I am SO interested in the answer to this question, too! Short of buying them and dumping the drink itself down the sink! I've posted both those places plus our work Classifieds and nada. I had a girl in my area last year that gave me a couple, but she wasn't too reliable. Spotted a co-worker drinking one the other day and asked for it - he told me 'no' as he was taking it home for the recycle bin!

is anyone putting wrapped candy in these jars?
I want to make them to sell but think the wrapped candy is much more sanitary.

Someone may have already listed this, but I use mine to hold my scrapbooking flowers--the bottles look just like Prima's. One for each color, looks great on a shelf.

Well, I kinda thought so, too, but he's a little 'odd' anyway, so I wasn't too terribly surprised.....

I had a thought (strange but true) about the sanitation issue. Could you put the cocoa mix, etc. in a thin sandwich bag with a twist tie? That wouldn't show too much through the glass but allow it to be sealed separately from the bottle itself.

If you guys type in the word FRAP in the gallery, there's 20 pages of frap bottle examples...with all sorts of different stuff in them!

I have used wide mouth Jones soada bottles. The reg Jones bottles old m& m and small candy. My daughter's friend drinks them at college and she brings them home to me. They are taller than the frap bottles.

What a joy to read all of your wonderful ideas. If you are sure that the recipient has no food allergies, a mix of peanuts, tree nuts and sesame sticks would be welcomed by snackers.

Rochelle , that sounds yummy!

i filled some with home made Peppermint bath salts

its so easy and smells so good!

pour a 2 lb box of epsom salt into a gallon ziplock
add 2 teaspoons Glycerin
a few drops of Peppermint essential oil (or any scent you like)
a few drops of food color if you like

zip the bag closed squeezing out all the air, make sure its zipped tight and massage all the ingredient together really well.

i left mine without color, wrapped the bottles with snowman ribbons, tied a string of tiny snowflakes on them, and looks so cute!!!

I used to work for the company that makes the Frap drinks. Wish I had known about this then!

Any great ideas for getting the glue residue off the frap bottles? I fought with one for quite a while this morning. Even tried goo gone, its is just so hard to get that glue off! I tried ceramic range top cleaner, and rubbing alcohol and one of those sponge things.
I know some things you can just put the decorative paper over the part where the label was, but I wanted to make a snowman jar, and wanted to get all the glue off.
Help!!

A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works great to get the residue off.

On tough ones like that, i use smelly mineral spirits - stinks but after a good washing they are fine

I put on Goo Gone and let it sit for a while. Then I sent them through the dishwasher.

Default Another use for bottles

I just held our church Christmas party and our theme was, loosely, candyland. Made big lollipops, did a 4-foot gingerbread house, etc.

Anyway, for the centerpieces I use frap bottles filled with candy and then had 2 gingerbread men glued offset back to back on a stick in the bottle. Glued cute ribbon around the top.

The table topping went, from the bottom: tablecloth, bright green tissue paper, pinkish-reddish tissue paper offset and then tissue paper with candy on it offset again. I took 6" cake boards, glued printed peppermint candy pics on top, put them in the middle with the jar on top. I was pleased they turned out as cute as they did!

I used frap bottles because I have a lot and candy costs quite a bit to fill 18 bottles! I let people take the bottles home because, quite frankly, I was tired of looking at candy!

I use the Mineral Spirits or rubbing alcohol, then wash in dishwasher and sterilize in a hot water bath for 10 minutes. This is especially important if you are putting something unwrapped inside.....yes, I know this has been talked about before somewhere.

I use a Mr. Clean magic eraser for really tough ones, but the first thing I do is run my water as hot as I can stand and fill the jar to the top with the water. Let it sit for a good 10 minutes or so, then gently pull off the label, if there is any stickiness left on there, I use the label I just pulled of to pull off the other residue. It sounds silly, but hubby showed it to me, I just take the label, put it over a part where the glue residue is, then pull it up quickly, works great. Then use my Mr. Clean magic eraser to take off the ink from the date and such and run them through the dishwasher.

I made this bottle for DH and filled it with red hots for his desk Loves Me Frap

and made this bottle set for another person, Frap Bottles
