Has anyone ordered and used any of the Flower Soft that was posted awhile back??? Just wondering if it met expectations.... With so many goodie tools and things to buy, I've been trying to cut back... but it is spring and flower playing would be fun, would like to hear from those that bought some and used it....
I've been on the fence about getting some of this myself. I LOVE the look of it, but not being able to show those cards to my customers will do one of two things:
1) Keep me from getting it - or...
2) Once I get it, keep me from using it much! <g>

I have it and I love it! I am using it on everything I can get my hands on that doesn't involve a workshop. Craft items to sell at the Bazaar we are having next week, gift items I give family and friends. It is soo cool!

how is this used? is it like fun flock, where you apply adhesive and then sprinkle this on top? i saw it somewhere and am intrigued.
yes - that's it! It was a product feature on SCS a few weeks ago - complete the video links on how to use Flower Soft. I've only done one card so far - but only becuase I haven't had a chance to stamp lately!
I just got mine in the mail yesterday- and brought it to work :> tried it on a card we had here at work- and LOVED it!! I bought the multi pack for $25.00 from sonshinecraft.com - she was the only one I could find that had it in stock- the shipping was pricey- but she fixed it on my order in the end for just the $4.95- they were great to work with and I can't wait to go home and play with it.
I don't care if I can use it on demo's- for me- it was a must have new item- :>
I found you really need to use their glue. It is similar to Aleene's tacky glue but the bottle has a teeny tiny tip so 'too much' doesn't come out too fast. Any other glue is too thin and runs and the 'fluff' doesn't stick to it as well.

I'm glad you posted an honest assessment of the glue because I was trying to find that out but no one really new. I would rather have the right glue.
Someone had posted a place that's good to order the FS and glue from, but when I went to order (sorry don't recall the name), all the stems and glue were out of stock, so I am stem and glue less!
I can't seem to find an answer to my Flower Soft question: Does it "smoosh" down when you mail a card with it? Most cards I make are for mailing. I don't want to send something that will just be a big blob when it arrives. I haven't seen it IRL yet and I can't tell from the photos I see online.
Cindy you can squash it down to post I use all the time with some of my cards But I also found like the other's it has to be used with their glue normal tacky glue doesn't really do it

The Flower Soft glue *is* Aleene's tacky glue, just repackaged into an easier-to-handle bottle with a tiny tip. Fun stuff!
All you need is regular tacky glue. Their glue is Aleene's Tacky Glue. They mention it either on their website or on their video. I use the A.C. Moore brand ($1), and it works just fine. As for the "smooshing," I've had my cards in clear envelopes, sealed for about a month, and nothing has squashed. I think that if you put a sheet of paper over your card in the envelope, the Flower Soft should be fine.
It is compressed in the pot and you have to 'fluff it up'. I guess I would think, if it is compressed in the pot that mailing it wouldn't change the fluff. It is kinda spongy, rubbery, soft. Want me to mail you a sample card?, then you can tell us all!!

I found stems at Walmart in the craft area that are the same gauge as the Flower Soft stems (18 gauge) and they are already green so I picked some up, they work just the same as the Flower Soft stems and cost alot less. I also found the Aleene's Tacky glue, which is recommended for use with Flower Soft, in the craft area as well. I would hate to seen anyone be stem and glue less for very long.
Questions? Answers: Sheree Reiners [email protected]
I couldn't find answers on the flower soft website and Sheree has all the answers! She demonstrated FS at a local Demonstrator meeting in Denver recentely and has it for sale. She had it when the website was out of stock! And she ships immediately!
FS is actually tiny little puzzle pieces of plastic. It isn't really soft but because it is plastic it compresses tightly into their containers then, when dumped into a ziplock container and fluffed, it stays fluffed! When you put it on your cards and make sure the glue has dried completely, it stays fluffed, even when mailed.

That's sweet of you, Ruthy. I could be a tester for everyone's cards: bumpy, fluffy, etc. Send them all to me and I'll tell you how well they came through the mail. ;)
Thanks for the information, The Dahl House. That's just what I needed to know. I'm looking forward to seeing this IRL when my RSS gets it.

I'm hopefully going to pick up the bright yellow today at the lss. I need it to go with the black for a bee!!! think I'll be sneaking a tad of glitter in there too

I love this stuff and recommend it highly. I saw it first at CHA in February 2008, where I made a make-n-take which was a little bouguet on a pin back. The pin has been handled by so many people as I demo the product, and still the bouquet is looking good. You won't have to worry about it flaking off in the mail.
I just got another shipment in, and I LOVE the new colors!
To answer someone's question, yes, you use it similar to glitter or flocking, but it has a floral effect. The mini-bouquets you can make with the wires are not at all like flocking; there really is nothing else like this on the market.
Another plus is that it is really packed tightly into those jars, and you don't need much at all to add a floral touch to your cards ... so it really does last a long time.
GREAT THREAD..I, too, have been curious about this product, but was worried it might come off the glue when mailed, etc....nice to read that apparently it does NOT!!
So, do you empty the smaller jar? into like a ziploc bag maybe? OR plastic container and than when ready to use, do you DIP the card in it?? or do you just throw in on the card...hahahaha..well, you know what I mean???
Imagine it would be difficult to get it back in the originial container(s) once you have opened it maybe???
Has anyone tried it for other stamps, other than flowers? or the BEE...(this would be adorable I think)...like grass, leaves?? etc, etc...ooh..I think this could be addictive??!!
for ME!!
I don't recommend emptying it out of its jar--it will fluff up to like 4 times its volume. I just take out a bit and fluff it up in a small dish; what's left after my project I can usually get back in the jar with no problem.
I have used it with stamps of little animals -- a lamb, a bunny, and a teddy bear. I didn't like it as much in the teddy bear -- maybe because I used the brown, which is dark--and it made it hard to see the definitions of the bear arms, etc. But around the edge of a teddy bear would add enough fluff without overpowering the design--I'll have to try that.
The white is also good as clouds or snow--which is really cute in a window card!
Check out this totally awesome use of Flower Soft by Chaosmom Flowersoft - Archway by ChaosMom at Splitcoaststampers
There are several views of this in her gallery and she is a pro at applying this stuff.
FS doesn't recommend even keeping this stuff in the container. Fluff it up! put is in a hard ziploc container or tupperware container and let it fluff! then you don't have to fight to get it back in the little container. And, by the way, if you choose to use the actual ziploc's don't use the sandwich.. they are toooo thin. Use the freezer kind. the other down side of these is the static cling. the FS tends to stick to the sides a little.

Great information here - thanks for all of you who've had first hand experience sharing what you've learned.
And the card that had the vine created by using fishing line with flower soft on it - WOWWWW!!!! If that doesn't convince everyone here that we "need" this product, nothing will. ;) Thanks for sharing this wonderful sample card with us.
