Default Felt Flowers

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I have been drooling over the SU! felt flowers for a long time, yet I could never quite bring myself to buy them :-D:-D Last night, just for fun, I took a square of felt and put it on the Sizzix flower die, and then rolled it through thte CB. It worked!!!! I got a perfect felt flower ; I did't even have to trim it!!! Just thought you all might like to try it - I think the flowers could add such a cute touch to a card!!

TFS - I'll have to give that a try. I bought the felt flowers because the colors are so pretty and never even thought about making my own.

I did that the other day! LOVE the felt flowers. Now, I'm off to search for the right kind of felt. It's actually hard to find that kind, you know? I can't remember what it's called, but it's a bit stiffer felt than what you'd see from other places like Walmart (or at least mine). I think I'm going to have to take a look at the one quilt shop we have in my town otherwise I'll have to drive 2 hours to check out some other places

Default Hobby Lobby

sells the stiffer felt. I have made banners using my sizzix letters. Also found some cute flowers in the Christmas clearance section at Walmart. I love the fun times crafting and sharing with my SCS friends!

Default Cuttlebugged felt flowers

I love making flower embellishments with my C/Bug too. I sell Tshirts (among other things) at a market from time to time, and here's a pic of one of them using C/Bugged felt flowers made into brooches (so that they can be removed for washing or for wearing on other clothes). I've also made felt birds the same way using a Shapeabilities bird diecut.

It is really hard to find good quality felt, not the stuff that little kids use for arts and crafts. I've found that Weeks Dye Works makes some lovely felted wool that's used by rug hookers, penny wool crafters, and stitchers and sewers.

ahhhh, I love Hobby Lobby ... alas, being Canadian (and lives far from the border), I can't go there all that frequently (try once every 4 years).

There are a few shops on Etsy that sell good felt. That's what I used on my Tshirt flower brooches.

Yea, I saw this idea on another thread. I really love felt flowers, snowflakes, whatever. I did get some snowflakes off the SU clearance rack...they are still available, large or small sets. I did get the in-color felt flowers when Baja was in and I LOVE them. I'd love to make some with my cuttlebug but I don't like the colors of felt at Hobby Lobby or maybe I was looking in the wrong place. I'll have to look on Etsy. Thanks

My JoAnnes has a way better selection of felt, but not the squares, on the rolls inthe fabricsection. It was on sale this week, I got small cuts 1/8 yard fits the sizzix perfectly. I got about 7 colors for 3 bucks. Anyone have a favorite die that they use?

I believe the sizzlits won't cut through the felt...you need the steel-rule dies.
