Hi Jane -
No question is silly You would probably like Mono Multi (green bottle, as mentioned above). It works great on paper & really sticks well. A little goes a long way & I've never had it bubble or warp (but I do use it sparingly). I think Hobby Lobby carries it but I'm not sure about ACM or Michaels. HTH
I go through a LOT of adhesive and I swear by rubber cement ~ not for scrapbooking, though. Also, red Duck tape runners and glue dots. All depending on the use. I must have five different adhesives for different things.
all you guys who like mono multi should try my favourite adhesive: Zip Dry!! It dries WAY faster than mono multi, doesn't make a mess, you can rub it off if there's any that spills out the side (with NO residue) and adds a nice firm stiffness to your paper, and will NEVER budge.

Love my ATG gun. I just started using the mono multi and have to say that it is pretty good. Used it to adhere glitter and also on my build a brad, worked great.
On the mono multi, I find my card like feels hard with it. Am I really using too much. It doesn't seem like it. I like the way you put it on, but when it is done, my card feels like I said, hard.
Hands down Mono Multi!! I buy it from Scrapbookpal for $1.99 a bottle.

Thanks for this info. I went to their site and of course could not just purchase the one thing. Just spent $42.00. Thanks for enabling me.

Mono multi is fine if I have a lot of time to let something dry. Maybe I use too much, but it seems kind of slow-drying for me. For special cards (ones that I think my friends might keep) or for heavier layers, I use the white tape with a peel off backing from Viva Las Vegas--it's a lot like red line tape, but tons cheaper. Most of the time, though, it's my Duck tape runners. I get them at Walmart--usually I go there about once a month and buy 2 or 3 boxes which is usually all they have.

I like the Tombo mono permanent adhesive (SU snail) for cards and scrapping. Occasionally, my LSS sells the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L in the red applicator really super cheap, so I will use that too for scrapbooking. It is the individual little slivers like CM's tape runner.
I don't want to mess with liquid adhesives! I'll pay a little more for convenience and neatness.
ATG 714 hands down the best thing I have ever used.
I totally agree! I love my ATG for any paper-to-paper application. When I'm wanting to attach buttons or keys or ribbon, I reach for a box of glue lines. They're just like glue dots, but in a continuous line. I'm also a very big fan of the Killer Red Tape (or terrifically tacky)... but the red very sticky stuff. It's wonderful and I use it mostly for dimensional projects like die-cut boxes. LOVE IT!
I really like the ATG gold tape but if I think I will have trouble placing a layer I use the green mono multi because it gives me a chance to move my layer. ATG adhesive doesn't give you a second chance.

I still like the Tombo permanent mono-adhesive. Since I usually only make cards or scrapbook, it works well for me. If I make something other than a card, I'll use the red tape.
My big honkin' red ATG tape gun. The best investment in stamping that I ever made. The dispenser was a bit pricey, but the refills are incredibly cheap compared to other adhesives.
Helen, it is a little combersome just because it is so large. I really wish they came in a smaller size. My problem is that I am left handed and I have a little trouble actually seeing where the tape is on the gun. I think if it was smaller then I would have an easier time.
It seems like I saw somewhere that glue dots are going to be coming in a little dispenser. I wonder if that will be a good alternative, if it idoesn't gum up like all the other little dispensers that I have used.
Do you have any friends who have one? Or your LSS might have one and you could use it. Good luck.

Thanks for your response!
No one I know has one, and the LSSs here don't have them either. I never heard about them until a few months ago when I saw a thread on SCS about them.
The amount of tape in one roll, and the low cost of the refills really appeal to me, though.
I've got a question for those of you that use the Tombo Multi liquid glue. If you bend your paper (like turning scrapbook pages, etc) does it crack and let the papers come apart? I have had this happen with the glue sticks where the card gets bent after the glue is dry and it cracks and the layers detach from one another.

I use Mono multi all the time and haven't had anything happen like you are saying. No cracking, no peeling.
Atg all the way for paper to paper
Glue dots for embellishments
Glue lines for ribbon
Red line tape for alterables/ 3D stuff / heavy stuff
Green mono multi occasionally, usually for ric rac
I LOVVE my Scotch Quick Dry glue for liquid applications but am having a heap of trouble with all my other dispensers. I bought the Ad Tech from Walmart and loved it but when I got the refills, they wouldn't work right. My Dotto is another great one but it has gotten "sticky" and the adhesive takes a LOT of pressure to dispense. I've been looking at the Tombow brand but, again, wonder how the refills work. I know the ATG would be an obvious choice but can't justify the $$$ at this point. Just would like a refillable one that is reliable.
Mono Multi for me, too. A little goes a loooooong way, and never lets go!
Same here, if you use the proper amount it can't be beat. Just a small dot here and there not a thick line all around. I also love Crystal Effects as a paper glue for altered objects.

What is "ATG", approx cost, and where do you get it?
The ATG is an "adhesive transfer gun." It is a hand-held adhesive applicator that was originally developed for framing. It can be purchased at framingsupplies.com. I've seen prices for the applicator to be anywhere from $40-55 and the adhesive runs $2.50-5.00 depending on width and yardage. Adhesive comes in both 1/2" and 1/4" inch widths and 36 or 60 yards per spool.
I've had my ATG for 3 years and it has been worth every penny!
I also like the ATG. We call it a ba-donk-a-donk. I've no idea who came up with that, but it's fun. I use any number of different adhesives depending on how "stuck" I want something. I like the Provo Craft Art Accents double stick tape that comes in skinny rolls--that sticks permanently. It comes in different widths and works great with ribbons.
duck -- made by the pritt company. available at office max and walmart. comes in refillable dispenser or disposable. my cards always fell apart with some of the other adhesives, but not this one.
I must say that I have a whole drawer full of different adhesives with a zillion different uses. I have never once considered double sided tape. I picked up a container when I was at the store last and I love it. I use the CM adhesive tape runner and I do love it. I love that it is repositionable and have never had a problem with the applicator but to save money I am going to use the double sided tape on bigger areas. Thanks for the idea!
