No, this glue pad can not be used to hold card pieces together - it is designed to be used in place of a product like heat and stick. HTH's
Ellen, i was wondering if the Solar White or Neenah Classic Crest (whichever one you used the glue pad on) was a glossy or uncoated CS. TIA and TFS your lovely card!
I used this pad at my LSS this weekend (glitter), and we did not use glossy cardstock. It worked just fine. I don't think any of the samples at the LSS, using this glue pad, used glossy paper. It worked awesome for gold leafing. The only concern I had with this pad was how quickly it seemed to dry out.

Linda (A Muse) warned us about that. That's why it comes with the reinker (or should I say re-gluer). I'm assuming the trick is to only put on what you'll need for your current project. I have mine on order so I'll know more once I get to play with it.
I just got back from Allentown, and the Heirloom Productions Stamp show. Two vendors had the new glue pad that does not require heating. I got one, and already tried it. It is great!
The vendors that had it were: A-muse, and Another Stamp Company. Others said they were getting it soon. Eileen

Does anyone have any tips/tricks for using this with glitter? I've tried it on vellum, glossy CS, and a scrap of SU! CS and the glitter rubs off with very little pressure.
I got mine at the Allentown show this weekend as well. It is awesome. I will say though be sure and read the instruction card that comes in the box. Sometimes in my haste to use new things, I sort of ignore that part. It does state "best results are achieved on vellum and coated cardstock" and "clean up is with StazOn All Purpose Cleaner and then rinse with water".
On one of the first pages of the most recent RubberStamper magazine there is an ad for the glue pads. All the supplies used in the ad are Stampin Up, so I guess they will have it soon... hopefully not on backorder!!

I have one and it is really cool. There is a thread on here somewhere about it. I'm not computer savy or I would post a link.
I have used it to adhear glitter to vellum. Works great. Sort of like embossing with out the heat. I say go for it. What is another 10.00???? Great lady on Ebay.7kidscollegefund is her name. Great buy it now price. FAST shipping.
I just bought one at a craft show last weekend! I haven't had a chance to play with it, but all of the positive posts on SCS convinced me that it would be a good buy. I'm excited to use it with glitter. I'd say go for it!
Same here. It is a pad and a refill together. Am I reading it right.... the pad is "dry" and then you put the refill on it at the start? I got one but haven't opened it yet!
I bought one too after reading a thread on here. I'm glad I read the directions carefully first because I read that you just squirt a couple of teaspoons then use it and clean it. I would have poured the whole bottle into the pad, then I would have wondered why it was hard as a rock next time I used it. I really wonder about myself sometimes, LOL!! BTW, 7kidschildrensfund on Ebay is great like Stampin Momma said. I have been buying from her for about 5 years now.
I got my Ultimate Glue Pad last week from Frantic Stamper (www.franticstamper.com) and it is fabulous! I stamped an image with it and dropped on SU pink glitter -- card is in my gallery. So sparkly IRL and the glue pad is a snap to use. Well worth the wait (they originally "introduced" the pads last Fall but were delayed in production). It's a 'must have' supply, gals!

Where did you find it in the franticstamper site? I am getting ready to place an order, but I couldn't find the glue pad there. Thanks.

I am having the same problem with the glitter sticking to the paper. It rubs off on the slightest touch. I waited a few minutes, I waited an hour, but the glitter still comes off...so I heated it and it stayed. We're not supposed to have to do that!~ What am I doing wrong? I used vellum and cardstock and glossy cardstock...same results. Maybe not enough glue?
I just relooked at my May/June Rubber stamper and found The Essential Glue Pad that shows SU project in the add. Could this be a new product for us. I would love a glue pad and refil. Any thoughts?
I saw some other threads on this a while back that I skimmed and it sounded like you could use it instead of the 2-way glue pen for adding dazzling diamonds to your stuff. I'd have to go back and find them though since i'm imagining it would take just as many steps and would glue up your stamps.
It's like ink that sticks like glue. I have one and used it for glitter. It's a stamp pad, so you -ink- it up with the glue -ink- and then you push your stamp into the pad. Then you stamp the image on paper or whatever and then sprinkle whatever you want onto it and it sticks. And the cool thing about this pad is that you don't have to get out the heat gun. And you don't have to worry about overheating the glue and drying it out like with heat and stick and it is very sticky. You just let it dry a bit and you are good to go. I love it. I just need to find a place that sells refills.
That sounds like a must-have product for me!
I was trying to glitter the dots by the heart in "Doodle that" last night. The 2-way glue kept dripping glue in globs! It was a little frustrating. I think my customers pumped it too many times at the last workshop.

This sounds great! Perfect for glittering! OM, I'm so excited - I'm off to search for one! (I'll keep it to myself though, in case SU! comes out with one in the July catty).
Seems like you'd have to rinse it under some water immediately after getting the glue on it or it would, indeed, gunk up the stamp. I wouldn't want to clean it on my stampin' scrub.
For you ladies that already have the glue pad, how to you clean your stamps after using it?

I have some paint pads that I bought at Wal-Mart and wet one and keep one dry. After I used the glue pad I just washed the stamp off on the wet pad and dried it on the other. Seemed to work just fine and didn't leave a residue.
I bought one over a month ago and just used it on Wednesday. I LOVE it! It was easy to clean - I just used my stazon cleaner - that's how the instructions said to clean your stamps after using it.
I bought mine a few weeks ago. It's great for applying glitter. 2-way glue pen is too messy for fine detail (IMO). I purchased at Archiver's and while the pad is sold with a glue bottle, I purchased an extra glue bottle at the same time. I use glitter much more often now. Use Stazon cleaner as per instructions to clean. Haven't had any problem with it leaving a residue on my stamps. This is a must have.
I don't understand....won't the glue get on the whole stamped image? How do you get the glitter just in a few strategic places? Am I really, really dumb??
