I have the Artisan 800. It's ok. The ink seems to run out fast just with regular printing. And because it is newer sometimes the cartridges can be hard to find. We have yet to find one store that has all of them in stock at the same time.
The picture quality is great if you use epson photo papers. Kodak papers will not work.
The touch screen is great for working directly at the printer.
I haven't tried the online features yet. If you buy it make sure to register it right away so that you will have access to the online features.
Try to find some on-line reviews before you buy. I had an Epson all-in-one (different model) a while back and it was a dud. Did some research on reviews AFTER it went bad and they were mostly negative with very poor customer support. Ended up going back to HP.
mine prints on cardstock just fine. I printed templates onto SU card stock. You have to load it just right though. Or do one sheet at a time which can be a pain
I looked at the Artisian and ended up buying the Workforce. I raely like this one. I dont print pictures at home usually, but the few I've pintied turned out great.
the card stock doesn't get jammed for me. My problem is getting it to feed if I have a stack in the tray. the printer has trouble grabbing it so you have to have the paper up higher on the tray, does that make sence?
I think my biggest complaint about the printer is that it goes through ink fast. I am constantly replacing the ink.
I have the 800 and love it. I've printed a ton of pics and am still on the cartridges that came with the printer. I love that I don't need a computer to print pics on. I have also hand fed SU cardstock for printing templates and they worked fine.
I find it cheapest to order epson cartridges (order regularly for my lab) from epson.com and you get free overnight shipping with an order of 3 or more cartridges.
If you have a best buy near you, you can play with the printer there before deciding to buy or not - that's what I did.
