I bought a Zero Hero Centering Ruler (dejaviews.com) at Michaels for $5 CDN that helps so much - it is 0 in the middle then goes out to 6 inches on both sides of the ruler (so 12 inches total but they have an 18 inch ruler too) and has small holes at the bottom and a slider in the center so you can do so much with it. Here is a picture I took so you could see the holes.
Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
Thanx. This looks like something I definitely need!

Wow! I bought one of these just because I wanted a clear ruler and never even THOUGHT that I could use it like that!! DUH!! What do you use the slots for?
I am sure there is something very clever we can use the slider section for but I am the wrong person to answer lol. I just use it for marking my place to cut on the 1/8th etc where the small dots aren't. I use them to measure where to place. I am sure there are better things to be done with it.
I found this description of it. I don't know which of those features listed refers to the slot. I've only used the centering feature so I'll have to pull it out more often to see what else I can do.
"With the Zero Hero, you can easily center photos, embellishments and other page elements perfectly — everytime! The new Zero Hero is made from laminated clear plastic with permanent blue markings that are visable on dark and light backgrounds. Features include stitch and eyelet spacing holes and guides for journaling, parallel line and perfect corner placement."
Hey...I bought one of these for myself and 2 stampin friends probably 2 years ago. They both LOVE them and use it all the time to do faux stitching, lining up eyelet holes and finding the center of the card for ribbons. Mine is still on the blue cardstock that it came on!
I bought this last year at a yard sale for 50 cents brand new.... it has been a lifesaver for me for lining up eyelets and brads! Nice to see it gaining popularity.
OK, dorky question...what part of the store is it in? Scrapbooking? The thought of wandering up and down every Michael's aisle looking for it gives me the shivers.

Morning! I got mine in the tools area - it was near stylus, cutter bees etc.
