I wound my a bunch of my ribbon around chipboard cards a while ago and while I like the small amount of space it takes up now I have creases to tend with. I only have a 6x6 corner of a room to craft in and that holds my desk/computer/stuff. I don't have room for an iron and I don't have a
light bulb
close by. I do have a hair straightener that I do not use for my hair.
Would using that to straighten my ribbon cause me any problems? I would hate to melt any of my ribbon.

If you don't let it sit in the curling iron too long, it should be fine. I used to make hairbows, and you can put ribbon in the oven to 250 degrees- so if you think the temp is not over 250 try it! Last week, I was making pasta while finishing up a card, and my ribbon was creased- I too the ribbon and encircled it around the pan with the boining water and it took out the creases. I have no idea what ever possessed me to do that, but it worked.....
In case you are wondering, I used to make my own curly ribbon- you turn the oven on at 250- and NOT any higher, wrap the 1/4 in or 3/8 in ribbon around a dowel rod (1/4 in or 3/8 in max in diameter for the dowel rod), spray the ribbon with spray starch and put it in the oven for about 20 minutes. (Or if you are like me, until you remember it is in the oven). This makes curly ribbons!

The heat from a light bulb will take wrinkles out of ribbon?
Wow. I never knew that.
Cool!

I just turn my straightener to a low setting and run it through. I'm actually going to be publishing an article about that for my blog this afternoon. Just waiting on hubby to get home with the camera. (don't ya hate it when they take things that you need)
I use a curing iron to get kinks out of ribbon [ my hair has no need of straightening, thank you].
Just pull the ribbon slowly through the curling iron. It won't make it curly, but it will take the kinks out.
On low setting, you can even use a curling iron on cheap ribbon. For instance... you have BIG bows for your Christmas tree... you packed them in a box... they unpacked all squished flat. Not to worry... just take your curling iron and sort of "work it around" the curvy part of the bow. AND... watch out for your fingers! I don't have to tell you how I know!!!
I have another tip for the squished Christmas bows, lightly spritz them with water and put them in dryer for a minute or two and they will come back to life

If you are going to adhere the ribbon to a project, use the Zyxon little "X" sticker maker. It is great for adding adhesive to ribbon and you do not have to take out the wrinkles first.

Thanks girls. I had seen the Ribbon Iron by Pebbles and it looks like a mini hair straightener to me. That's why I came up with using my straightener that has been taking up bathroom space.
I just hate trying to tie a bow with ribbon that has creases in it. The bow never lays right.

at CHA, and it really works! Yes, another tool for the drawer! I don't have it yet, but if I remember correctly, it will retail for around $16.95.

I know you said you didn't have room for an iron, but I recently bought myself this cute tiny pink iron for my ribbons and to help smooth out wrinkled or curled paper.
