I don't have the Avery Elle dies, but I do have the AI Square Easel die. As shown in the video above, it makes a cute window/frame with an easel stand on the back. I definitely needed to used the directions that come in the package the first time I used it, but I like it. It's a nice way to display a watercolor images (I have a pretty large collection of their watercolor sets!).

The window piece is separate so you could use any other shape die you have in your collection. You could also choose to skip cutting out the window and just glue something flat to the front.

There is also a nice post on the AI blog showing an "Opening easel card" that is more like a traditional card with an easel back.

Overall, I'd say it is a bit of a pricey die, but I bought it when they had a sale and I don't regret the purchase. I don't think the Avery Elle dies look like something I would personally use, but it is an interesting idea. Hope that helps!

I don't use it often, but I think the TH die is very easy to use and easy for the card receiver to understand its purpose. It doesn't require any explanation at all. I haven't seen the others, so I can't really compare.

I have this Marianne set of 2 dies for an easel, and I love sending one along with a card.

I also have these Marianne easel dies and use them quite a lot. I like them because they are not attached to the card and can be used to show other things too.

With the Marianne dies, I like to layer the lattice bit cut from gold metallic cs over the solid one, cut from a nice bold color. It's way pretty, and the two layers make it very sturdy!

The reason I like the TH die is that it will cut chipboard etc... much sturdier for those heavy cards.....

I have the tim holtz easel die and it will cut thick cardboard etc. I use it for making easels to display cards you can also put it on the pack of a picture in a die cut frame for display when person receives it from you/ you can use them to display cards. take some cardboard cut it paint it and embellish it these look really neat for displaying cards, etc.
