Love mine!!!
Lets see if I can answer scando3's question.
It cuts paper in half or thirds.
It can cut any size in half up to 12x12. I usually use mine for 81/2 x 11 paper. It cuts perfect for half sheet cards. It will cut it in either direction. Long side or short.
As far as cutting into thirds, 12x12 makes the most sense. I don't usually cut12x12 much less into thirds.
One minor downfall you can only cut one piece of CS at a time but that's all I usually do anyway. For workshops and classes it still goes really fast one sheet at a time. If i'm using 8.5 x 11 it really cuts two cards at a time.
I hope that helps.

I have the dreamcuts. I finally had a chance to use it a few nites ago to cut cards for birthdays in my church. I think that it is a pretty good toy, I mean tool to have and pretty quick cutting, and once you get the hang of adjusting the guide, then it will really be great to have. It comes with a guidesheet that shows you all of the different cuts you can make. As for how straight it cuts; my A2 (8.5 x 11 sheet cut in half) cards were off just a tiny bit, but I will attribute that to user error...as I stated before, may take a few tweaks in guide adjustments to work those types of things out, but overall I am glad I purchased mine.

I have the guide open a little wider than the CS, and then move the guide to the CS. I put the guide so that the paper bends slightly and then move it away just a hair. I get very consistant cuts. On the 12x12 third cuts I seem to be off slightly too, so???

If your paper is not TRUE 12x12 and so much of it isn't these days (including some from SU) then your cuts will be a little off. Whenever I've noticed my paper being a little "off" I measure the paper and find that it's not true to size!
