Default Does anyone own a scrap box?

I am moving into a new home and am interested in the scrap box. Can anyone tell me if they like or dislike it? Thanks

surely you have gone to the website, hmmmm
I believe it is www.theoriginalscrapbox.com
I am drooling with envy, if you can get it then GET IT!! tee hee hee

WOW... never seen anything like it. A little out of the budget... but would be nice to have for people like me who don't have a stamp room. I have to take down and set up everytime!

All I know is I want this craft storage system more than any other I've seen. I would love to be able to just close the doors when I have company and not have to pack everything away. When I have to pack my stuff away, it takes me a long, long time to pull everything back out and get back to what I was doing. It breaks my motivation, even if I'm in the middle of a project. I've shown the scrap box to my BF and am slowly working on him. We have such a tiny house, and all I have is one end of the DR table to play on, it gets so annoying!
I think if you can get it, you should go for it. It's probably awesome.

Wow!!! Wish I could surprise my mom with one. I'd need an additional table to set up next to me for elbow room. TFS!

I have a friend who has one and it's so awesome. It's amazing how much stuff you can fit in there, and everything has it's little place. You can buy more of the bags & drawers, too.

I think this looks great, but honestly - for the price I really think it should come assembled.

Thanks. Seems that those two really like it. Sure does seem like a lot of money though. I'd sure have to clean up my space to make room for it if I got one.LOL

I have one. I got it for Christmas. It is not put together yet as I am cleaning my crap errrrrrrrrrrrr a craft room out. I have hired our handy man to put it together. The only drawback I see is the the 3 foot cube and going to 9 foot open. That takes up a lot of space. I have a small bedroom I am using so I am only worried about size. Also I got the Knotty pine which I think is beautiful. But it cost a couple hundred extra for it. I am wondering if I will end up keeping it open most of the time anyway and not seeing the front. I guess I will find out. I got it when they had free shipping. Shipping can be as high as four hundred I have been told.

I went to the scrapbook expo in CA last week,
and they had the hobby hideaway on display; it was awesome, because the desk can be put away without disturbing your work in progress. There were lots of different additional options to add to the back wall and the side panel (doors).
I am not sure of the pricing, as I knew I couldn't afford it, but the finishes were so lovely, it is truly as beautiful as furniture.

Just an FYI, the Scrapboxes are on Overstock.com. Same price, BUT $2.95 shipping. I added one to my cart just to make sure. If you do a search, you'll find a coupon code worth $15 off as well. Heck in this economy every little bit helps!

I have wanted one of them for along time, but I see on their website they are coming out with a smaller one (table and all) for $795. I may try for that one.

check out website, hobbyhideaway.com,
the desk slides up into the cabinet so the doors can be closed.

Nice! The price is 2295.00 and would be almost $400 to ship. It doesn't look like it would hold as much but it does look nice.

Thanks for posting - it's nice to see what's all out there.

It does not look like it would hold even half of what the Workbox holds for a lot more money. It is a nice piece of furniture though.

((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))) Debra so nice to see you! When I ordered they had a special with no shipping. I wonder if they are still doing that or willing to cut you a deal? I really don't know if they charged tax or not since it was a gift, hubby paid for it. Let me go to the site and check for you.

i made one with a wardrobe.
Bought all clear boxes, sweet jars and things to store my goodies in and it was much cheaper.

I've thought about that too - when I lived in England I used to have our computer in a cabinet that was basically a modified wardrobe.

I think the benefit of this is that it isn't as deep as a wardrobe once you get it all folded out, and so some things that would be in the back of the wardrobe are more easily to hand.

I printed out a picture of the scrap box and wrote a note on it to my husband that it would be a great gift that would cover many occassions...anniversary, mothers day, birthday...etc.

Last night I was sitting at my little over crowded table and mentioned to him that if I had the scrap box I would be out of the way and organized. He kind of rolled his eyes...LOL

Thanks so much Deborah for all your information and thoughtfulness! I will definely keep that in mind, I would LOVE it, and will keep looking to see if that some point they have no shipping again.
