OMG! I am so glad I am not the only one! IT IS A SICKNESS! And when I get something in my mind that I think I want...I can't sleep until I buy it! Like today....I have been wanting the DreamKutz....I probably don't need one, I have about 5 trimmers and the Cricut....but I got it anyway convinced it will make my job easier.
I have a Cricut expression, sold my old red sizzix, have a cuttlebug and I think I need the Big Shot...that is next on my list.
I own two. I have the original Sizzix lever-operated red one, and I have a Cuttlebug. I bought the Cuttlebug because I like the embossing folders that are available for it, and I wanted a 'rolling' die cutter that you could send longer dies through. I have been pleased with both, and still use both. I think if I were going to buy a 'rolling' die cutter now, I would buy the Big Shot. It's a bit larger and will accommodate the larges dies on the market today, and it's heavier -- I don't take them to crops, so portability is not an issue; they can stay put once I get them home from the store!

Reason: oops - embossing folders sold separately!!!!
Hi,
My name is Robin and I'm addicted to these tools...
1. The Wizard
2. The Cuttelbug
3. The Cricut
I bought the Wizard first, after waiting many months and hearing the pro's and con's of the sizzix machine when it came out. Heard about the wizard through a friend and told me the many wonders it will do, including being universal with all the other dies out there in Die Cut land.
Bought the cuttlebug with a coupon at M's. It was a gift (gift card) So, couldn't beat the price.
My son got me the Cricut for Christmas which I thought I would use a lot more than the other two machines. But find myself going to my first choice of machines...The Wizard.
When I hear about new tools I want them...and then when I get them they sit there at times.... I think about my other collectibles that are sitting here too and think how much money I have in all this stuff.... -tend to feel a tad guilty- Money spent and then not using half the stuff I spent it all on.
Portability used to be an issue more than it is for me now.
I would love to try out the Big Kick just to see if it is something I can't live with out. I like the idea of a wider work base because I could roll through more die cuts.

Hi, My name is Teresa and I am a diecut addict!
Yep, been there done that. I have to stay outta the stores and off the internet (like that is going to happen)
OMG! I am so glad I am not the only one! IT IS A SICKNESS! And when I get something in my mind that I think I want...I can't sleep until I buy it!
This is me as well. I owned the Cuttlebug, but gave it to my mom when I ordered the Wizard (which arrived 3 MONTHS later because of the recall). I'm lying awake at night these days thinking about the Slice. It's probably a good thing my dh and I have talked about a bit of a spending freeze for awhile, or I'd be at the store right now. My concern, however, is that I'm doing our economy a disservice by not spending money. Whadda ya think?
Well, I have the original red sizzix...got on clearance. Then bought a side kick. Also have a cuttlebug, big shot, cricut and xyron personal cutter....quesiton is...What don't I have?
Yep, been there done that. I have to stay outta the stores and off the internet (like that is going to happen)
Maybe we should start a support group!
LOL! I agree with you Teresa...We should start a support group, maybe call it "Things We Have to Have, but shouldn't buy"....LOL Yeah right...LOL I know we got to curve our wants right now...but it's so hard. If we all lived in one community can you just imagine all the toys this community would have...LOL...
Robin
but we would share in this community !! so it really wouldnt be that bad !! i wish i had a large petal punch from stampin up ! just to make feet for a cute lamb. cant justify that purchase....but, if my paper-pal had one i could just pop over, give her some nice black CS and punch a few out !!
she could borrow my nesties.....i have no paper pals in our rental house...and dont forsee any in our new home either. boo hoo
maybe we could do it by mail? anyone willing to punch out a dozen large petals if i send the CS??? i''ll pay the postage of course...which wouldnt be much at all !!
My Name is Lora and boy do I have a problem!!!!!!!!!!LOL I have a cuttlebug, cuttlekid, circut (i sold this one to my niece), Circut expression, Big Shot, Big Kick, and Revolution. Also nesties. I have taken over the basement.
Yes, I'm afraid so. I have the Accucut Mark IV (my very first manual die cut purchase), the red Sizzix, Sizzix Sidekick, the Wizard, Quickutz Blue Handle and Purple Squeeze and the Ellison Big Shot... and I know that the question referenced to manuals, but I also have the Cricut, Cricut Expression and the Xyron and I am leaning toward purchasing the Big Shot Electronic version when it releases and I just recently told my DH that I wanted to upgrade my Accucut Mark IV to the Grand Mark (a very large version of the the Big Shot and Sizzix).
I have a Cricut Expression and a cuttlebug. I am thinking about getting a Big Shot. Do they take bigger dies? With the Michael's coupon, it sure is tempting!

I started with the original sizzix machine. Bought it on clearance off sizzix.com. Then they came out with the big shot or big kick (same thing). Then bought the sidekick. Don't hardly use that one. Then bought the baby cricut. LOVED IT so I got the expressions. Guess I use the cricut and big shot the most. Cricut for the different sizes and big shot for the embossing and for cutting out foam and ect. Just glad I'm not the only one addicted to die cutting machines. P.S. Looking at possibly getting the Pazzles.
I have a Zip-E-Mate because my mil gave it to me for my b-day last year. It takes everything except the Original size Sizzix.
And I have a Sizzix Big Kick because I held a ScrapPink crop in Sept and really wanted to buy Sizzix's ScrapPink kit and had bought a Sizzix original die to see if it fit in my Zip-E-Mate then found out that it didn't fit that size.
So I went to Sizzix's site and went to their Specials section. I found that they had the Sizzix Big Kick plus 2 Originals dies including shipping for $50.
That's why I got it because I wanted to get the ScrapPink kit and because it was such an awesome deal.
How comforting this thread is...
1st i bought the red sizzix,
then i bought a 2nd red sizzix - to keep at work (school teacher)
then I bought sizzix sidekick
then i bought 2 Quickutz squeezes - pink and blue cheap at a craft sale
then i sold the quickutz's cheap at a craft sale
then i bought the cuttlebug
and 3 weeks ago i bought my 1st electric machine SLICE (loving it)
why?? hmmm they were cheap, mad at hubby, bad hair day??!!
I still have them all except the quickutz. and I use them all for various reasons, probably use the cuttlebug the most, though
I was thinking there may be some validity to using certain types of dies with only certain machines, but maybe not.
I've decided I'm going to get a Cuttlebug soon- if the Chrismakkah fairy doesn't bring me one this year, then I'll be buying myself one shortly thereafter as a present for being awesome.
If I ever get to the point where I want to cut something other than paper, then I may invest in a different machine. Right now I just want to cut out paper accents and rock out with Nestabilities, so it sounds like I should be fine.
I have a cuttlebug and a big kick.
Why two?
Because I wanted a pink big kick ;)
Me too!! But, I got the big kick first and realized it's so bulky to travel with to crops/retreats.. so a friend was selling her cuttlebug for $25, used once, and I jumped on it! Oh yeah, and my 1st die cutting machine was the cricut! LOL
This thread was so much fun to read! I really need to let my boyfriend read it so he knows there are more out there like me!
First I bought the red sizzix... still have it
Second I bought the sidekick...still have it
Third I bought the cuttlebug...still have it
Fourth I bought the Big Shot...still have it
So what will be fifth?
I have to laugh at one post saying she tried to sell her red sizzix on craig's list but no one wanted to buy it!! I thought about doing the same thing...guess I will have to keep it!
I got the Original Red Sizzix when they first came out. Was in the market for
a BigShot, BigKick or SU BigKick (all are identical) cause I wanted the larger bed; price would determine which one it would be. Ended up with the pink BigKick package (Sizzix EBay for $49.00, plus a mat for $3.50, so shipping was free).
Had planned to get rid of my Original, but of the two, the Original Red is my favorite. It's easy as pie, quick as can be, cuts about everything, and works with all brands of dies (except Bigz) and embossing folders.
I got the original red sizzix at a yard sale. I was sooooooo thrilled at all the amazing stuff I could cut then the die habit snuck up on me. Got the Big Kick because it took all the dies and folders (now I'm battling a folder habit and loosing, or am I really winning?)and I loved the crank though handle. Plus "old red" (sizzix nic-name) was so heavy and hard for me to get enough pressure on when doing multiples. LOVE LOVE LOVE my Big Kick but will hold onto "old red" because I'm pretty sure the plastic gears and parts will break on the kick eventually ( and in mid project), plus she deserves a loving home. lol
Went to Michael's today to buy a Big Shot but they only had a Big Kick. Is there any difference between the two? I would love some advice about which one to buy. I know I could buy the Big Shot from my demo, but I am sure I can find it cheaper somewhere else. Is that SU Big Shot package worth the cost? Thanks for all advice!

I was just reading the forums to determine which die cutting machines works the best and which one get the most use. Ladies, you are all hooked. Me, I only have the sizzix (old red), which I use for all of the cuttlebug embossing folders and last year my hubby surprised me with the cricut expression. I used it sometimes, but not as much as I do the sizzix machine.
If I decide to get another machine, all of this info will really help me to make a decision
Oh, you ladies crack me up! I am so glad to hear that we all have some sort of hoarding/addiction thing to something. Mine just happens to be to paper, paper punches, and the die-cuts themselves. I almost hate to admit it, but I have only one di-cut machine, and it is the Cuttlebug. I have no plans to purchase any other manual machine, and I am even an SU Demo. I had my CB before SU started selling Big Shots, I simply can't afford the Big Shot. Besides, I use all kinds of dies in my CB such as most of the Sizzix dies, Quickcuts dies, Spelbinders, and of course CB dies and embossing folders; so I don't see the need. I am probably the only one on the planet that has no desire to own a cricuit machine. I guess it just depends on how much play money you have and where your priorities lie; we all have different "wants". Best wishes to you on whatever you decide to do.
I have a Cuttlebug and am considering the Big Shot.
I also have a Cricut and a Klik-n-Kut XL LOL
Hahaha! Well, I bought the SU Big Shot not too long after my original post.
I love it and only keep my Cuttlebug to take cropping. But I think I'm going to spring for the Dr's bag for my BS and just give the CB to my mom.
So far Mom has gotten my "Big Red" when I got my CB, my QK Original Blue handle when I got my pink Squeeze, and my Baby Bug (small Cricut machine) when I got my Cricut Expression. She certainly has seemed to benefit from my addiction. LOL~
I only have one manual die cutting machine, my much loved cuttlebug. I have seen the big shot at SU workshops and it is a cool thing. When my 'bug goes to that great stamp store in the sky I will probably get one (not the SU one), but until then, I am content with my Cuttlebug. I did just buy a Silhouette and am having a lot of fun learning all the things that a digital die cutter can do.
Cuttlebug, Big Kick, QuicKutz Squeeze, Cricut E, KNK 13", KNK Maxx 24"
(I got the CB, QK Squeeze, and BK with 50% coupons, so they were a great deal!)
The KNKs are my only repeat (I was upgrading). The other machines have their specialties.
I agree with proud2stamp; it's a sickness. I also have a zillion punches. There's just something about cutters!
If I had to get rid of some, I'd give up the CB, QK Squeeze, and the smaller KNK. In fact, the KNK 13 is in a box in the basement. While I use the other "duplicate" machines even though I could get by without them, that one really is unnecessary.
I'm going to give the CB to one of my kids. He has the Cuttlekids and it's not nearly as good as a CB.
If only to use Nesties, some sort of manual diecutter is a must, IMO. The KNKs, Cricuts, Wishblades, etc. are fabulous, but there will always be some dies I just gotta use.
What a fun thread! I started with the Cricut, which I mainly use for scrapbook titles...find that I don't have much use for it with cardmaking. I also have the Cuttlebug, which I love! I mainly use the CB with nesties and with the CB embossing folders.
