I read somewhere that someone uses their vegetable/potato peeler to distress. Haven't tried it myself, but I'd think it would work.

Love SU's distressing tool, tho!

I use the perf tool on coupons that come several printed next to eachother. I can separate what I use at the store easily and without thumbing through a bunch only to have them all fall on the floor! :0

Along with the SU! tool, I have been known to use my fingernails, bone folder and/or scissors to distress edges.

Default Distressing

They sell a set of 7 files different shapes for about $7 at some scrapbooking stores, I can't remember what brand Making Memories maybe. but anyway they have pink handles. but I went to Harbor Freight tools and found a 12 piece set for $3. Don't buy the tools that are espcially for the craft, you can find them cheaper in beauty, hardware, fishing, storage etc. I like the idea of the vegatable peeler, I also use a plain emery board, or sandpaper which comes in different grades of roughness.

If you dampen the edge of the cardstock with a sponge before distressing, it works great.

I use a sanding block that I BORROWED from my husbands tool box. It works great! I have also used scissors, tearing and rolling, and emery boards.

Red face

I was recently distressing the edge of a card and used the edge of a butter knife & it worked really well, Plus I didn't have to chance dulling out my scissors!
Hope this helps
