Default Distress products causing...distress

Sorry, couldn't resist.
About 4-5 years ago, I bought 4-5 pads of the Distress Oxides. I didn't use them in a long time, so I used the Tim Holtz Refresher on them. The oxide part doesn't work anymore. So I emailed Ranger and they said that if you use the spray, only spritz the pad once. I did it 2-3 times, for sure. Then they said they could probably be saved by buying reinkers, which are only $1 less than a new pad.

Also, I was in love with Distress Stains in the dauber bottles. Last time I bought them was right before they were being discontinued, so I bought a few dauber tops. I swear I was told by Ranger that those were going to fit on the new Distress Oxide Stain sprays. Well, now Ranger is saying they don't fit.

I'm not sure what to do here. I definitely used the dauber Stains more than my ink pads. I'm not much of a stamper and if I do, I use the Wendy Vecchio pads.

Is there a way I can make dauber bottles from Distress Oxide Sprays? I really don't like actually spraying: way too little control and lotta mess.

Thanks!

Can you transfer the new stains to the old bottles? Since the dauber tops come off, that should be pretty easy. Maybe you could also buy some inexpensive dauber-topped bottles on Amazon and pour the stains in those. I've had less than stellar service from Ranger in the past, so I feel your frustration. I hope you figure out something that will work for you.

I've never tried to get the caps off, TBH. I'm probably going to buy some bottles on Amazon, since most of my Stain Daubers are still close to full.

Thanks for your help!

Well that is frustrating.

Until you get the new bottles....what about using the xlarge finger daubers with them? Got any? Just spray in a bowl and pick up the color.... ? Or a wide flat brush?

Is the whole bottle a different size? Because that could cause people problems with storage.

I'm not familiar with the Xlarge finger daubers. I only have the small ones that fit on the fingertips. Can you point me toward some/link to some? Thanks!

Sure
There is more than one model-some are one finger, some two. This is a two finger one at Blick. I prefer two fingers. I can also just grab that handle to use it.
