Hey!
I just heard from my SU Demo the retired accessories list isn't going to come out until June 20th??????? WHY????? That isn't much time--10 days---until the new catty comes out. That isn't very nice! I want to know what is being discontinued so I can make a last minute effort to purchase something I might want later.
Anyone know why they are waiting so long?
Boo hoo :(

I suspect SU waits so long because usually there is a mad rush to get the retiring accessories. They don't want to run out of inventory too soon before the start of the next catalog.
yes, after what happened with the retiring wheels being on the regular list and the mad dash and angry demos and customers, they wait as long as possible, so a demo doesn't have to say to a customer that the item is sold out and gone for good.
I always tell my customers to make a list ahead of time, that way they know the difference between want and need and don't get too out of control. It's also helpful, since I put the order in right away on the 20th, so no one is disappointed.
Actually last year was the FIRST time they announced retiring accessories. In past years we didn't know what was being retired until the new catty came out.
I believe that the reasoning for the late announcement is that the list often creates a rush to purchase the retiring items and unlike the stamp set which SU produces themselves, the accessories are all purchased from outside vendors. By publishing late in the month, they give everyone a heads up on what is being retired, deplete their inventory of the discontinuing items and minimize disappointments created by out of stock/sold out items.
Discontinued or retiring SU! accessories? *merged*
I know today is June 18th---but, has anyone got an idea what is being retired from SU concerning the accessories yet? I guess the big day is June 20th. I don't wanna wait any more----- :-| -----ok, ok, I know, get a grip! Well, will someone post it asap then on June 20th? Please, pretty please? Pretty please with bling?:-D
I guess I was just hoping something leaked out.

2 am EST or midnight SU time it should be up, but I wouldn't hold my breath! The last few "updates" that we were waiting for didn't happen at the usual time... someone didn't flip the switch when Cinderella's coach turned back into a pumpkin! ;)
Anyway, I personally think from several hints I saw that much of the ribbon is either going or being renamed... just a hunch ;)
I would look for designer paper to be on the way out as well, not sure what will stay and what will go... but seems to be MUCH more paper on the horizon...
I'm a little worried about several of the punches, but not as much as the ribbon.... you can never have too many punches IMO and I think SU would be crazy to retire more after axing so many last year...
We already know about the amount of wheels going...
I'm also thinking they might change the on Board items...
BUT don't quote me on that, it's all just speculation!

Like I said, it's a gut feeling... For example, in the Stampin' Success on page 18 they refer to the rose ribbon as "Regal Rose grosgrain"... now it looks like the same rose grosgrain we already have, and it may just be a goof made by the design team listing the products used, but it could very well be that the ribbon is at least getting renamed... I know SU has had some blunders in some of their print ads before, so I'm not 100% sure about this one...
also, there is "chocolate chip wide grosgrain"on pages 14 AND 16... wide is new, and to have it listed as a specific color makes me think the "regal rose" grosgrain isn't just a typo KWIM?
anyway, I don't claim to be a Sherlock Holmes or Nancy Drew, but this kinda makes since to me! I guess we'll know for sure about any ribbon being discontinued tomorrow AM!
Is pst time 2 or 3 hrs behind est. I guess I need to look it up huh? See if i will be able to stay awake long enough. It is 12:39 A.M. here in eastern standard time.
Did you get it? I can e-mail you the pdf if you want. send me a private message if still need it.
Nobody is allowed to actually email the PDF, but you can send them the link.
It's against SU!'s rules. If you click the link, that's fine, but emailing it, is some kind of copyright thingie... LOL I'm not too good at describing it.
I send the link to my customers, not the file.

Actually, I'm trying to find out if that's true, it might just be for the minis.
I'm sure if we aren't supposed to post the file, a mod will fix it.
No worriees.
