Designer's Calender-Cricut Cartridge-Having problems-Help!

Is anyone else having a problem with their Designer's Calender cartridge? I keep wanting to cut something with the events feature. For example I want to cut the apple on a branch. That image is on the shift function but when I select shift and events, it just gives me the regular image which is the watermelon. It's not letting me cut ANYTHING with the events function.

So I did the upgrade that they told me to do online and still nothing. Is anyone else having this problem? This is such a PITA, as this cartridge was one of my birthday presents. And if I can't use it...

Can anyone offer some insight?

i am new to the cricut, just got it a couple weeks ago.

and i dont have that cart, but maybe you could try just using the "events" key without shift?

i have "from my kitchen" cartridge and the "layers" key cuts objects without needing the shift key. its hard to explain in words without being able to show in person!

like, for example for the apron(which has an apple on it) i press the regular key, then for the trim, apple, and pockets i press "shift". then for more parts to the apple(leaves and seeds) i press just the "layers" key.

i'm still learning what alll the keys mean! so i hope i havent caused more confusion than help!

I have tried it and it still doesn't want to cut any of the events. I'm a little annoyed. I know there will be carts that will be defective but still, I really wanted to use it. I'm on the phone right now to Cricut, so we shall see. Wish me luck.

So I talked to Cricut and they said that they will send me a new cartridge. She just asked me what the problem was and how long I've had it and how long I was using it. Then she asked me for my details and said that she was going to send me a new cart to replace the defective one.

I got an email with their breakdown of the problem. Apparently where it stated what the problem was, she put defective and common problem. So I don't know wether that means they have had other people call and complain about the same problem or that was her way of just saying whatever.. It's the end of the night... give this chick whatever.

Who knows, either way, I'm getting a new cart.

Let us know if you do get your cart.

I had a manual that came with one of my carts and it literally fell apart as I tried to turn the pages. Called Cricut and was told that they would send a new manual but never received it after emails and repeat phone calls. Just broke down and paid the $7.50 (?) for another one.

My friend got an overlay in a sealed package with a cart that didn't go with the cart she bought. Did the same thing I did with CS and was told they would send her the correct one. She also never got a replacement but just photocopied the page with the main images from the manual and uses that when using the cart. She could buy an overlay but says this works for her.

I have this cartridge and have used it extensively. I absolutely LOVE it! I haven't had a bit of problem with mine. Good luck on your replacement!

So I called them on Monday to complain right and on Thursday I received my new cart in the mail. I didn't think they would send me a brand new cart right away. I thought I had to send back my old cart to them and then they would send me a new one. But this one came via Fed-Ex.

Has anyone just recieved their cart right away? I'm very pleased with the outcome.

I'm still going to call them on Monday to find out if I have to send them back the defective cart.
