My sweet dh bought me a cricut which i love but as soon as I heard about the cuttlebug for embossing, had to get it. It is wonderful and i use it all the time.

I waited for a good deal and got one on creativexpress for $35. They run specials all the time so keep an eye out. http://www.creativexpress.com/

Yes it is definately worth it...my little bug gets worked to death with all the cards I turn out for the troops, Swim team fund raisers, church bookstore and hubbys desk. Yikes...I also have the BS, Cricut and Original Sizzix and I always use the little bug for embossing. It is just so easy.
Blessings.

I don't have a cuttlebug. I have the old red sizzix. But it works with the cuttlebug embossing folders. Even though I do some die cutting, if I could only use my sizzix for the folders, it would be worthwhile. I LOVE my embossing folders and have been using them on almost every project now. I think you will get your money's worth out of that investment. And if you buy it on sale or with a coupon, it will be even more worth it.

Yes! Embossing with the CB is so crisp and beautiful, you'll wish you had gotten one sooner.

I love dry embossing but hated how long it would take to emboss a card front. This is so quick and easy! It also saves your hands from hurting if you need to emboss a lot of cs. I have the Cricut and CB and LOVE them both. HTH!

The cuttlebug is more than worth it -- loved embossing but hated the time it took to do it not to mention it was nearly impossible to do on dark cardstock.

Best investment anyone could make especially if you are patient and wait for a sale on an online site or use a coupon from Michaels, etc. . :-D

Another YES! I don't think diecuts are worth the expense, so I never wanted any machine until I saw the 'bug...I love it!

Another yes here! An embossed layer can make a plain card so very elegant! I feel my Cuttlebug is one of my very best investments. I don't think I have a favorite folder, but I especially like the ones that look good on both larger and smaller pieces of cardstock.

I have the cricut too. I use my bug for embossing mostly. I bought mine because I already had all of the fiskar texture plates. I hated embossing with them by hand. The bug makes it so easy. I use them all the time now. I got mine with a 40 percent coupon so I think it was totally worth it.

I LOVE my CB and use it lots for both embossing and cutting with Nesties! I use the dies, also, just not as frequently. Highly recommend it! Only $40 at Mike's w/coupon.

I have been thinking of getting one, so I am glad that I saw this thread. I think I am going to use my 50% off coupon to get one at Michael's this week.
Thanks for all of the information and opinions!

ABSOLUTELY! I got mine at www.happyscrappyscrapbooking.com (or something very similar), www.creativexpress.com also has great sales on it form time to time.

Favorite folder? D'Vine Swirls hands down. I use it WAy more than any other - it is the most elegant and versatile in my opinion.

Go for it - treat yourself - you will love it! ENJOY!

thanks!
The Original Sizzix (the red one with the pull down handle) does an excellent job embossing all brands of folders. It's the only machine I have, and other than the new, larger Sizzix/Ellison dies and folders, all dies and folders work like a charm. Plus...no other machine flattens bottle caps like the 'Mean Red Machine!'

Check sales for highly reduced prices for this machine...I've seen them piced as low as $10.00.

I bought the CB and hated it. Didn't even take it out of the box. I just didn't like all that layering. SOOOOOOOOOOO I just use my big old red Sizzix. So much easier and quicker. I sold my CB to my girlfriend. She's coming over to emboss her Christmas cards on my Sizzix. ROFL

Favorite folders.........oh my! I have probably about 23 of them. I love the snowflakes, dotted Swiss, Textile, and the new Christmas ones.

I LOVE my CB! I purchased it over a year ago mainly for die cuts. Only used it a few times. I just recently started using the embossing folders with it, and now I'm totally addicted! I have quite a few folders, and when I can't find a background I want, I use other companies' dies which can be used in the CB. Definitely worth the investment!

I just got my Cuttlebug a few weeks ago. I thought I'd be using the dies more but when I saw how beautiful the embossing is, I was hooked! I bought more folders and have used the bug all weekend, doing scrapbook pages and making invitations for dd's wedding shower. You will love it! I love the Swiss Dots and I also got some of the new Christmas folders and love those.

I own every single embossing folder and I cannot pick a favorite. Love the swiss dots, Devine Swirl and the Leafy Branch. I think those 3 are all tied for first place. I use the others too just not as often.
Blessings.

i'm glad someone else asked this quesiton too. I've been wondering. I finally found out how people are getting the ultra-cute paper textures . My LSS has a die-cut station where we can also use the cuttlebug to emboss, and my crop friends have a Sizzix.

Not sure how often I'd use the little bug, so am debating whether to buy just the embossing folders I want and use a CB or Sizzix, or to grab my own.

Totally worth it! I bought mine about two months ago, and now I have the swiss dots, the swirls, the paisley, and just bought snowflakes and stylized flowers. Can't wait to use those! I like the way all the effects turn out! I just bought my first nestabilities and used it in the CB and wow do I love that! I have several dies now too, and just think this tool is one of the best things out there!! Scrapbookers love it too!
