Default Cuttlebug slider dies?

Hi-

I was at Ms and purchased the set of these dies. I got them home, and I realize the slits will allow some types of ribbon to fit through..but I have a question..HOW do you use the dies?? Thanks..any cards out there so I can see??

I went to the gallery and typed in "cuttlebug slider" and came up with these results:

I love the slider dies! I sometimes don't have ribbon the right width though - so then I cut CS to the width and thread that through instead!

I did a search in the gallery for "cuttlebug slider" and it found 200+ items - enjoy looking!

Here's a card I did with a slider die:

Just Because I'm Plum

I really like the slider dies, there one of my favorite die sets.

thanks..now, when you put on the slider, do you glue it down, or allow it to "slide" around on the card? Thanks

I usually adhere it to the card...if you don't it could end up where you don't want it and then your card will look all wonky!! ;)

Andrea, I loved your Plum card! I just bought a Cuttlebug with Michael's 40% coupon...and Joanne's has the accessories for 30% off...a great deal, and I'm looking forward to trying them out!

The slider dies are fabulous! You can run ribbon through them, or even a thin piece of cs (I've done a card where I used fine deckle scissors to cut a thin strip of cs to slide through the die...of course I stamped a skinny sentiment on the cs which was the reason for using it in the first place!;) )

You can also mount the stamps from Riveting and Circle of Friendship on all of the shapes of the dies, though my favorites are the oval die and round die. Add a prima flower or a sentiment to the slider die and it looks totally different. I even saw one card where the person did a frayed ribbon in the slider die so it looked like there was fluffy stuff coming through the holes in the die - very creative!

Slider dies are my VERY favorite die in the Cuttlebug line, next favorite is the word "thanks" that is included in the dies for the Olivia Alphabet....neat, neat, neat!

Cuttlebug! I got mine at JoAnn's and I saw them the last time I was at Michaels. I, too, have noticed that no single store (on line or brick and mortar) has the complete line of Cuttlebug supplies. It drives me nuts that you have to search several sources to find one brand of stuff! Good luck finding them.

The SU Word Window Punch is the perfect fit for the sliders. Great for faux ribbon!

They're cuttlebug. Go back to ALL THAT SCRAPS and search under 2"x2" dies. They come four different shapes to a pack and they sell for $15.99 on this site. Good luck!

Woohoo! Went to JoAnn's today on my way to work and found the slider dies... plus a bonus - they were 30% off! I was so excited - LOL! Plus I picked up a 6 pack of Hero Arts sentiments that will fit perfectly on the tags.

PLUS-- ( you know I couldn't stop there) they had their DCWV paper stacks 50% off so I got a cute spring themed one, and all of the embellishments were 60% off so got some eyelets too.

LOL and my order just came from SU! today also, got the Warm Words set, the mat pack so I can do some paper piercing, and some clear envelopes.

Whew -- looks like I have a lot of work to do now!

I have not checked the above links, but here are two that I did. This first one shows how I made hanging tags for the tiny (Michael's) $1 stamps:

WT107 $1 stamps by etsdas at Splitcoaststampers

and a regular ribbon slider:
SC119 lighthouse by etsdas at Splitcoaststampers

My only (small) negative is that they are sometimes just a bit too large. But that does make them easier to use with stickers, circles, etc as has been mentioned earlier.

Dorothy.... Love your cards.

Thanks to all who have posted the gallery links. I haven't used the sliders much. Will do more now that I've seen all the pics.
