Normally you just need the cutting plates and the die itself. (The die gets sandwiched between the plates.) If you need a crease pad (because sometimes the "folds" get cut clean through without it), you'll have to get one of those and trim 1/8" off the side for it to fit through your cuttlebug. That's not hard to do at all...I remember doing mine easily with a ruler and a craft knife.

I just used mine yesterday --the SU Flower Folds Die and the extended Cuttlebug plates. I used a B plate - the SU Flower Folds Die -- Cardstock -- B plate.
Do not need a crease pad. Works like a charm!! Just watch positioning the cardstock so you do not cut petals off. Have fun!!

I guess I would use this same stacking for fabric...does the die go face up?

I just the dies up most of the time ---I do not like to waste more cardstock than I need to and want every part of the disigns covered with cardstock. I have never cut fabric with any of my dies so not sure about that. Depends on the thickness I guess.

FYI.. I just purchased the Extended 13 inch plates so I could use the SU BigZ XL dies. BIG PROBLEM. The dies are almost 14 inches in length. So the extended Cuttlebug cutting pads are STILL TOO SHORT!

I used them last night and although they were a bit short they worked...now my guess they won't work on all.

The top plate/pad doesn't have to cover the whole die. It just needs to cover any part of the die where the blade/design will cut. I have a zillion dies and the blade never goes to the edges. There's always some wiggle room there.

If I am remembering right, Steel Rule Dies ALWAYS go Face DOWN and everything else can of face up. That's how I've always used my cuttlebug.
