I knew I had seen these advertised as a pre-order. They are on the Custom Crops web store for $17.49.(1 'A' plate or 1 'C' plate or 2 'B' plates) They are expected mid May-subject to change, of course.
Just in case anyone was looking for these. I am sure other places have these for pre-order but just wanted to let CB owners know the extended plates are going to be available soon.
I use the Sizzix 12" ones in my cuttlebug and they work fine. I got them 50% off at Michaels.
I have been shopping, checking various stores and combing the web for the Cuddlebug "C" plate-not even Provocraft sells them! Does the Sizz 12" really work????? Very interested...let me know when you have a minute!
Thanks, Susanne

I am confused. In my previous post that you quoted, I said the 12" Sizzix plate (like A plate) works. I have used it along with the two 12" Sizzix thin plates (like B plates) and it works great in the Cuttlebug machine with the 12" Sizzix dies. I don't have any Cuttlebug 12"dies. I haven't yet used it with the 12" Spellbinder dies. Does this answer your question?

To follow up, I just used a 12" Spellbinder die with the 12"sizzix plates. It cut fine, even though I don't have an extended C type plate, but I had a little bit of trouble with embossing. I don't have 12" mats, so I just used my cuttlebug 6" plates and embossing mat and ran it through halfway, backed it out, and then turned it around and did the other half. It came out great. HTH.
Stamp luvr: Here's my deal, I own a Cuddlebug and my "C" plate cracked in half. I have been using it rather hap-hazard with 'jimmying it the long way in the sandwich' and repeating this task to get the cut/embossing done. Needless to say, it's a pain in the rear! So, when I saw that you use the Sizz plates in lieu of the cuddlebug C plate-a light went on in my head (same company Provocraft manufactures both the sizz and cuddlebug) so I thought...rather than try and find the "c" plate I'll just use the sizz plates like you do. My frustration is; I have written to Provocraft about obtaining a "c" plate without getting any response and NO BODY has them in stock!!! I have combed the web looking for this goofy "C" plate and it's like it does not exist! So, I am thinking I may just invest in the new Sizz machine (electronic-large-that will use all my Cuddlebug folders, die cuts and my sizz die cuts) Thanks for the tip...I just need too buy a new machine! {I think this is why Provocraft is not being very helpful to us with broken plates--they want us to invest in their other machines!}

That's bad that you can't find a Cuttlebug C plate. Really poor customer service from Provocraft too. I read somewhere on here that some ingenious person went to a plastics shop and got a piece of clear plastic the same thickness as the plate they needed custom cut. I think they said it was much cheaper than buying the Cuttlebug one, but I can't find the post for you. Anyway, it's something to think about We shouldn't have to buy new machines because they don't supply parts for the ones we have already invested in.

Hi "Cookie Creator" ha-ha (that's what it say's under your name!) Yes, I am tempted to find a plastic shop myself--I did go to a plumbing shop to get the rubbery flat thing I use for my Spellbinder impressions---I think it cost about $3 as opposed to the matt they sell for $20 something??? (ridiculous)...Now, where is a plastic shop? hahaha...keep you posted!

Kookie creator....yeh that's about it with some of my cards! I'm not much of a cookie creator either although I do make some great muffins! Right now, I'm filling my face with licorice all sorts (why do I ever start on them?) and washing them down with a good cup of coffee! No wonder I'm up to 136 this AM! Why does our weight always go up and our bank account, down? I always thought you could never be too thin or too rich, so it should be the other way round!
I just checked a couple of places where I had seen them such as Creative Play Stamps and they are out of "C" plates too. Provo craft seems to be focusing on their Cricut and the CB is becoming their orphan .
Not everyone makes enough cards to justify buying a Cricut or the huge investment in the cartridges.
I have a CB, but I bought a Wizard too. I doubt that Spellbinders will neglect their Wizard and stop supplying plates and accessories.

Barbara,
I have given up..."Not Only Ink" has them for over $10 each! I may buy one...but I think Provocraft is unreasonable not to have these in stock somewhere...I own a Cricut-but still need and use a regular die cut machine...you have to for embossing and small things...why fire up the Cricut for the small things?! Oh well,,,guess I'll buy one/two of them since the plates break all the time!

"B plates are easy to find it is the "C" plates that are nearly impossible to locate. I remember a year ago when "B" plates were difficult to find so when I found them I used coupons and bought two extra sets.
If you find "c" plates it may be best to buy 2.
At the 3 Michael's and 3 JoAnn's that are within reasonable distance to me, the Cuttlebug supplies are disappearing. The embossing folders are all old - maybe even around the first one out, there might be one package of 'B' plates - if you dig around at the bottom of the display rack, etc.
Talk about an 'orphan', in my area the CB almost seems to have been disowned! I have a Big Shot but love my CB.
Now you have me worried as I have yet to break a plate. I have 2 packs of B plates which I bought when they were 50% off in Michaels.
Oh...I have already gone through at least 3 sets of plates A and B...they get all bent, warped, scratched...one cracked in 1/2 the second I ran it through the machine! I emailed Provocraft and they send me out a B set immediately! I am not sending rawhide and metal chunks through the machine either!!! haha-Just basic wear and tear!

I really didn't mean for this to get so involved...when I clicked on "Google" it brought me right to SCS and someone's inquire--this thread! I am an avid user of my Cuddlebug (teach classes-sell cards ect) so I use it a lot! As a matter of fact, I just bought (two) sizz die's and plan to cut out a bunch of Halloween cats for my cards-as well as my sister's scrapbooking stuff (she lives in England)...but, they are fat sizz die's so I don't need the "C" plate! ...I say, if you use your cuddlebug-a lot you should have a back up B plate--I have crushed those in the middle of a huge project! In the meantime, I think I am going to definitely order 2 -"C" plates from "Not Only Ink"...this week!

I worked for Michaels as a "EC" Event coordinator-I don't think the Cuddlebug wall changed for years there-I always look to see if anything is new...Nada!...I have personally written Provocraft to have them design more "mature" die cuts-because not all of us are kindergarten teachers and well kid stuff w/crooked heads is cute n all...we need something new! Same goes for Cricut. I own all the home decor cartridges...no Disney (personal YUK)...so I know what you mean-I think they are purposely taking off on the new Sizz machine (electric) with the long plates...that is on my wish list..next! I want a machine that fits all my die cuts-but, I refuse to spend $400+on it! I hear all the time in scrap stores how the teachers use layers of cardboard to 'jimmy' through the pasta maker style die cut machine...but who's got time to figure that out?!

I called Provocraft a few weeks ago and asked where I can buy the "C" plate in my area but I was direct to cricut.com which is where you can purchase it directly from them; I thought it was strange for them to have a store under cricut.com rather than Provocraft. Their price is $10.99 but I was hoping to get it cheaper. Anyway, I had searched here yesterday and I found a thread where someone mentioned that they had bought the plate from Memorymiser.com so I went to that site and just placed my order. The cost of the plate is $9.99 and I selected first class shipping which was listed as $6.74 but after it calculated the cost (I guess based on my location) the shipping changed to 3.99 so my total was $13.98 for the order.
