Does anyone use a Cutterpede?? I am in the process of replacing my cutter and being in Australia, we are limited in our range. I have seen some of my friends with a Cutterpede and like what I see.
Pros and Cons???
I like the different blade options. And I like that it is a rotary blade, as I find static blades to blunt really quickly.
Please share your opinions, so I can decide whether this is for me.
I have a cutterpede and a fiskars and don't notice a huge difference between the two but I slightly prefer the cutterpede but can't say exactly why.
I bought almost all the extra blades like the wavy and scalloped etc. and have been disappointed in them. I cannot cut cardstock with them at all. They will only cut through thin designer paper for me. So keep that in mind if you want to use the special blades on cardstock.
I have a Cutterpede. I like to use it when I travel but I tend not to use it at home so much. I have a MM cutter for here. I think it is better than a Fiskars but I wouldn't say it is my favorite cutter. Good luck with your decision!
Hey thanks Daisyboo - that is why I am asking, I don't want to go to the expense and find out they are not worth the $$$.
I have a Fiskars at the moment (and have only ever used Fiskars) and find that I go through blades quite quickly. It does do a good cut, is easy on the eye for measurements, but the Cutterpede has got me wondering. I really like the rotary blade idea - which my Fiskars doesn't have and I cannot get replacement blades for my older Fiskars, which was rotary and I loved it.
If you like your fiskars, you might as well stick with it. I have a cutterpede and I think it cuts straighter than my fiskars. However, I don't like that you keep having to replace the foam pad and unfortunately, the extending ruler broke off on mine.
That being said, I will probably replace it with another cutterpede. It's all what works best for you. I got to try the cutterpede at my LSS during a make and take. If you have a store nearby, maybe they have a store cutter you can try before you buy.
I have a cutterpede, which cuts way straighter than my old fiskers, but I honestly haven't used it since I got Stampin' Up's tabletop cutter. It is fast and straight and has a self-sharpening blade!

I have a cutterpede and I also bought the scorer and scallop blades and I love it. I used to have another cutter same system just different brand and I replaced the blades all the time. The cutterpede cuts a nice clean line and I love the extendable, elbowed arm, no pre marking card with pencil before cutting/scoring. I find the scallop blades cuts well but practice on some scrap card to get used to how much pressure to use.
The cutterpede blade retracts so when you use it you push down as you slide along. My old one didn't retract so I don'y know if this is why I had to replace blades often. For heavier cutting matboard for book/folder making I use a guillotine bought from an office supply store.
I love my Cutterpede! Been using it since it first came on to the market! Haven't found anything that comes close to it yet! I love the scoring option, the different blades, you name it! And, if it breaks, it is inexpensive to replace!
I'm also a Cutterpede fan. I like that the replacement parts are inexpensive - I've had it for a few years and have replaced the blade twice and mat once (you can rotate the mat around 4 times before replacing, so it's pretty cost effective). I use it everyday and still get straight cuts even though it's several years old. It took several purchases of other cutters that were a nightmare before I bought the Cutterpede - I'm very, very happy with mine!

I had the same problem with the decorative blades a year or so ago and returned them to the store. DH bought me a new cutterpede for Christmas b/c DS broke off the arm and it came with the decorative blades and they all worked very well. Possibly a manufacturing defect, which has been corrected.
All in all I like the portability and straight cutting of the Cutterpede. Replacement costs of the runners is inexpensive and infrequent.
I keep the scoring blade on my Cutterpede at all times, and that is what I use it for. I cut with my Carl Cutter. But, the Cutterpede scoring blade is the best I have used. I haven't splurged on the Scor Pal yet!!

I got the smaller version with a 50% off coupon from Michaels. My problem is that I do not know how to change the pad you cut on because the grooves are deep and it needs it. Anyone know..it doest look like you can change it. I do love the smaller one.

If you have the cutter positioned like you are going to cut something, look at the cutting pad and you will see a notch to the right. You can slip for finger in there and pop it out. At least that is how mine works. Super easy.

I have a cutterpede and not real thrilled with it. I normally use my cutter(s) from Creative Memories, but they lack the decorative edge cutters which is the reason I bought the cutterpede. I was very dismayed to find such difficulty cutting through cardstock since I'm more of a card maker than scrapbooker. I used it mainly for scoring over the holidays but recently bought a scor-pal at Archiver's for 30% off.I guess I'll just keep it around for a spare :-(

I like my Cutterpede. It cuts straighter than the fiskars and I LOVE the all-over 1/4" grid. My only complaint is that the blade carrier is "stiff" I liked being able to flick it out of my way with the Fiskars, but the cutterpede just doesn't move as easily.

I used one for a really long time (like 5 years) and I liked it a lot. I got tired of buying blades and new cutter track thingies so I got a Dahle 507 (which is just like the MM trimmer that came out about a month later for less $$ >:()
So I gave mine to a newbe stamper who needed a good trimmer. Anyhow it's a nice trimmer.
I like the MM style one better though.

I love mine...I don't have room for a tabletop cutter (or I wouldn't be able to get to it if I made room...too much clutter!) and I just bought my 2nd cutterpede. I've tried fiskars, tonic, and the CARL, and I don't know if it's what I learned on or what, but I love my cutterpede the best.

My friend had one that the arm broke off and she emailed the company and they replaced it for free. They want their customers to be happy.
I have both the regular one and the mini. I used to use the mini just for scoring until I got a Scor-Pal so now I keep it in my bag for travel. I prefer both of these over the Fiskers which would seldom cut a straight line all the way from one end to the other. It usually veers a bit at the end no matter how hard I hold down on everything.
