Okay ladies, what's the trick to keeping Crystal Effects from globbing up the tip? I don't use it all that much but every time I go to use it I have to spend half and hour cleaning out the top. And what's a product I could buy at Michaels or Hobby Lobby that's similar?
I heard of people using a pin with a ball on the end of it as the plug.
Don't do that...it will rust and your Crystal Effects will be discolored.
Here's what I do:
Put the cap on very tightly and store the bottle upside down. Now and then, you may have to clean out the cap. And sometimes you may have to use a pin to unplug the tip, but for the most part storing upside-down works the best to keep my CE flowing free.
I've just stuck my paper piercer in it right before I was using it (not keeping it stored in there or anything) and have unclogged it that way, same for my stickles :-)
Storing upside down works.... don't keep it on your table without the cap on for too long and keep a straight pin handy. Storing it on it's top keeps the air way from the tip and it really works!

I use a small paper clip or pin AFTER I've used it so there is nothing in the tip to clog it up. I keep mine straight up.

Thanks for the tips everyone (pun intended ; 0 ), I was wondering the same thing...
I was wondering if the Diamond Glaze stuff (at JoAnn's or LSS) is the same. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Crystal Effects!!!

I've used a couple of different products (I can't remember which ones) and Crystal Effects is the best IMO. I used them to make magnets with flat, clear marbles. The other products didn't dry clear which ruined the look of my magnets. I don't have pictures of the magnets, I'm not at my regular computer. =(

Yes, it is the same, as is Aleene's Paper Glaze. I've used all 3 and have found them all to be high quality.

Cool! I haven't thought about using it with marbles. Did you stamp an image, then use the Crystal effects to adhere the clear marbles? I really like that idea. Tell me how you did it. Please!!!

A dried glob at the tip of adhesive bottles is due to air being left in the bottle. As the bottle sits after recapping, the bubbles slowly work their way back to the surface, bringing small amounts of adhesive with them, trapping it in the nozzle.
An old kindergarten teacher's trick for keeping glue nozzles glob-free is to tap the bottom of the bottle on your work surface a few times to bring any bubbles to the top, and then *gently* squeeze the bottle a few times to get that excess air out, then immediately replace the cap. It might take a minute, and your bottle might spit and sputter a little bit, but you will have a glob-free nozzle every time if you do this little trick before recapping. Hope it helps.
