I just got this at Michaels with a 50% off coupon. I think the coupon is good until tomorrow. At my michaels it sells for 28 and I got it for roughly 14. I Have only played with it once but love it!! I would buy with a coupon..not sure I could justify the full price to my DH though...but he was happy it only cost 14 dollars... I would definately get one
I don't have a Crop-a-dile myself but I have tried it once. It works very easy!! So that's great! But I don't like it that you can only use it on the side of the card, tag etc. You can't use it in the middle of a card because the Crop-a-dile doesn't get there.
I think it is a definite "must have". I've had hand surgery and have NO trouble using it. No it doesn't go in the middle of your card, but it's good with layers, etc. I wouldn't trade mine for the world....got it for Christmas using a 50% off coupon. Have a stampin'up work shop and get it free!
I got mine on HSN ( I think) when they were doing a whole day of scrapbooking items. Mine came in a case with eyelets. I have to say I LOVE LOVE mine and use it a lot. Mine was like 20 bucks, but it did include the case and a lot of different design eyelets. I wouldn't be without it. Much faster and easier than tapping with a hammer and waking up the whole house.

Oh right! Another thing I love about it is that it goes through EVERYTHING. I use it when I make clipboards. I punch a hole right through the clipboard and I'm able to attach a pen. The teachers LOVE that. I have also used it to go through all chipboard, leather, tin, and even cds!

I was at a really cool scrapbooking event and everyone had one but they were all either pink or green and everyone was oooing and aaahhing over my black one. It looks better!
I got mine at Joanne's and it came with a storage case and some eyelets. If you like eyelets its great. I am just learning about all the other things it does. I used it this morning to punch another notch in my belt!
I used it to punch a hole in my daughter's belt, too. Hers needed to be smaller...mine, well, we won't go there! I also used the punch part to go through 14 layers (in only 2 chunks at a time!) when I was making 6x6 photo albums for my kindergarten students. I just about wore my hand out til I realized that the C-O-D would punch through so many layers at a time.
i used it to punch holes in a tin lunch box for embellishments and it was like cutting thru butter i was so amazed so being a smart alec had to show hubby hmmm got a metal ruler to show him lets just say it was harder but it did go thru it .I never even thought about belt holes .enjoy your c.a.d..ladies

I bought the storage case with eyelets as a separate purchase at Hobby Lobby. BUT... What I've found is that I don't seem to be using it nearly as much now that it isn't in my tool turnabout. It's still within easy reach and not in a drawer, but it is still kind of 'hidden'...

I got one for my birthday. It is pink and it rocks. I second those that say use a coupon for it. I know the person that gave it to me got it at JoAnn's 40% off. It has replaced my eyelet setter and hole punchers. It rocks. I also figure I could beat someone with it if ever attacked while stamping
Yes, Yes, get one! I got one at Hobby Lobby with a coupon. The best part is that I can cut through a many layered card when I decide at the last minute that I want to add a brad or eyelet, and normally my hands would not have been strong enough to cut through all that. Usually an anywhere punch required me to do it over and over as I went through each layer.
This is so much easier! And I think the eyelets look better, too. The back side is cleaner looking.

This is so true, the eyelets look neater and cleaner.
No difference between SU and Michaels/ACMoore/HobbyLobby/or Joanne's! I have to say if there was a fire in my house (and the kids, hubby, and dumb cat were safe) I'd grab my Croc-a-dile and tonnic cutter. Ok...Ok...and ALL my paper, and ALL my stamps, and ALL my punches....but then I'd leave the house! LOL

I soooo agree with you about what I'd grab on my way out! LOL. ;)

kjpp, you crack me up! but you set me to thinking...what would i take? hmmmm, dh can take care of himself and he'd probably get the darling puppy so i can just worry about my own stuff...the stamps and inks would be first followed by the lap top so i can still get to scs! and my paper, of course...ok, the whole house can burn up as long as my stamp room isn't hurt!!! lol

I don't own one...but I have had the chance to use one. It does go through VERY tough stuff. Metal cups & buckets...cds...plastic... And without much effort.
BUT, I noticed you can only punch in so far. You've got about 2 inches max that you can go "in" with.
I may get this so I can use it on non paper items I'd like to punch...BUT, I will use my coupons for Jo's & Michaels. I won't pay $30 for it. Also...I have an anywhere punch...the one you use with a hammer. And I like that I can punch a hole in the middle of a 12x12 page if I want. Same thing with my eyelet setter.

I would put up the link but the site will not let me it says that I have to post 3 or more times and I have....Hmmmmmmmmm not sure what that is all about.
ok ok! you've all convinced me that this is something that I NEED to own! I have a 50% coupon for Michaels and will go there tomorrow to pick one up! thanks girls!
I purchased mine from HSN. It's purple and has a matching case. I hadn't really used it very much, but enjoyed imagining what I would do with it...no more hammering or excessive force to set an eyelet or struggling to punch a hole in something thicker than two sheets of cardstock. I thought this would really be great for this, THEN....I attended our Fall Stamper's Retreat and some of the ladies had the pink one and some had SU!'s and I really couldn't see a big difference. We used it on every project, punching thru wood, tin, chipboard, cardstock. It was great and it works!!!! It's not designed to work on every inch of a sheet of paper, but for all that it will do, it is well worth the price and even more so if you can get it @ half off. Having used it so much at retreat has inspired me to take mine out of the purple case and put it to WORK. Oh yeah, you know how some times when you are setting an eyelet and it has that prongy( if this is a word) unfinished thing going on; not so with this guy.
Tazn, I haven't seen it anywhere else with the case but I'm sure it has to be. I'm thinking even HSN might have it listed with the case. Thanks for the info on the directions..lol...I actually posted in tools a week ago asking for help on the directions and as always, the good folks here at SCS came through!

I have a Crop-A-Dile, since January. I LOVE it, and I have done so many things with it, I don't know how I survived without it for so long! As for the reach, I wish it reached further also, but I find that I can find a way around that. EIther I put the eyelet/snap/brad onto an embellishment and then glue it, or I use my paper piercing tool to make the hole and use brads instead of snaps or eyelets. They make so many cool brads these days. Lovin the new rhinestone brads!
I got mine at HSN also with the purple case and the 400 jumbo eyelets. I then made it a point to use it on my shower thank yous. I've also been using it on my altered paperclips to hold them in place. So much fun. I had to make an effort to use it, but if you are already an eyelet user, you won't have any problem putting it to work.
God bless.
I ordered a green one today. Can't wait to get it. The countdown has begun for the 3-5 days of shipping--here I go again stalking the mailwoman.
ohhhhh...I LOVE the UPS man and my mail carrier...I don't think they love me! I'm in a wheelchair for a few more weeks, and have been ordering everything online! I now know what time the UPS and FEDEX guys get here each day and I'm at the window waiting like a puppy for their owner! Then I yell out to my daughter "PACKAGE! PACKAGE!" She runs downstairs and then it's like Christmas here. Mind you, I don't order big expensive stuff. I've ordered DP, brads, stamps, etc. So for about 12-15 bucks I get a package. That's about the only thing I'll miss when I'm up and about. We should start a support group here for UPS/FEDEX waiting!

At first I didn't like the CAD. After I watched an online video about how to use it, I tried it again and now I love it. The progression of tools interests me. I have the punches and setter you use with a hammer, the Silent Setter, the Click-It and now the CAD. I can't seem to let go of any of the others. You know, I *might* need them...for something...sometime...
