I was just at my Walmart and they have the Cricut Personal Electronic Die Cutter for $169.00! They have a number of cartridges too, ranging between $53-$59. Didn't know if anyone saw this or was interested!
I was able to get my Circut at Michaels the day after thanksgiving for $130ish because they were letting the ppl use the coupons and i was able to use my friends 25% discount also but i wont by my supplies there anymore i went to buy the tool kit for it and at michaels it was 30.00 and at walmart it was only 18.99 what a big differance also the carts for it are 30.00 cheaper at walmart ..So run ladies don't walk hurry to Wally World for it..

I think I'm waiting to see if the new one can handle 12 x 12.....
Before I purchased my Cricut in December, I emailed support to find out if the rumors were true regarding a newer model. this was the response I received...
"Thankyou for contacting us. This is just a rumor, there is not going to be another version of the machine released. We are too new of a product to even need to upgrade.
I heard at my local Archivers and read on some LSS blogs that they are very upset with Provocraft for releasing the Cricut at Walmart and undercutting all the LSS's. Now the LSS's are stuck with all these Cricuts because they can't compete with Walmart. One store said that she paid Provocraft $165 for the Cricuts and now she is selling them for $185 and only making a $10 profit. Supposedly, just a rumor, but the buzz is LSS's are boycotting Provocraft because of their "shady" dealings on the undercutting. Total rumor that I have been reading repeatedly on LSS Blogs. Too sad if it is true because Cuttlebug is made by Provocraft and they will really be missing out on some serious sales if they do boycott Provocraft.
Our local Walmart has it for $194, so I guess the price varies by area.
Does anyone think they will eventually lower the price everywhere? I'm one to wait on new products because I've seen this happen many times. I bet there will be other companies that come out with something similar.
Thinking out loud about how far papercrafts has come. You used to have to use an alphabet stencil - trace and cut with scissors, then Sizzix came out and now there are several home die cut machines available and now the Cricut. Technology is wonderful, isn't it?
oh me too! Cuttlebug and accessories at Walmart would make me one happy girl! If I had the willpower to stay away I would boycott Mike's and Jo's any day! But I don't have it in me.
the prices at Walmart really vary...some have it on clearance for $99 and some have it for nearly double that. (The clearance ones will not be restocking them and will no longer be carrying it...so it really depends on the store/area).
The QVC deal does have an additional QVC exculsive font that has gone for nearly $100 on ebay because you can't buy it elsewhere.
Also, PC has said that there will not be another 'cricut' as an upgraded model, but it has been strongly suggested on other sites that there is one in the works that will cut using your fonts on your computer and will be more $$ and it won't be called 'cricut' but rather another name.
All food for thought...I know when it comes to our supplies it is hard to resist and have patience.
