Default Cricut vs Expression Bags etc

Im thinking about the Cricut Expression because I just saw a few demos on youtube and a friend of my sisters is selling hers.
I really like the idea of making my party favors and I saw that they have a cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More Cricut Cartridge....but Im not sure if she has the expression or reg. which one is better

If I had the money for the Expression then i'd go for the Expression because it can cut bigger sizes - however, I seriously don't think i'd remortgage my house for anything crafty !

go for the expression. I had the original and recently received the expression from my hubby. The original is good but very limited in sizes that it can cut for the bags and boxes. I recently cut a bag on my expression using the fit to page feature and after the bag was folded and glued it measured 6 inches. If you did this on the original your bag would come out smaller, I think, due to the layout the original allows you to cut with.

I don't know how clear this is but I hope it helps.

If you can handle it financially I would buy the Expression. From what I understand the cricut original can cut the boxes from that cartridge but they are very small. The sizes that you can cut with the Expression is awesome. That is one of the cartridges on my must have list. Good luck with your decision.

Help me decide.
I would go with the Expressions. I have both and I have the Tags,Bags,Boxes and More cartridge. I wanted to make a bag from the cartridge at Christmas time to put homemade candy in. I only had the original Cricut then. I did make a box and then LMAO when it was done cutting. There was NO way I could fit more than 2 or 3 small pieces in it. I had wished I had the other one to make them. I got the expressions on Black Friday for Christmas and the boxes are a much nicer size. If that is one of the things you will be doing with it....then go for it!! You won't regret it. I know I don't!!!

Envelopes are the real problem with anything smaller than the Expression. Envelopes are cut on one sheet of paper and are folded almost in fourths when assembling. With a 6 inch maximum, the largest envelope you can make is 3-4 inches. You'll have similar problems with bags & boxes.

Think about how the bags & boxes are folded/created and you'll see why the larger format is necessary -- unless all you want to makea are little table favors or something.

The gals on the Cricut discussion boards are really helpful when it come to questions about what can/can't be done with the various machines & carts.
