Default Cricut and Sure Cuts Alot-what happened?

I've been involved in a new job and a long orientation so I haven't been crafting much (I bought a Cricut Expression last fall and it's still in the box) Tonight I was thinking I should get it out and give it a try so I wanted to make sure I updated my Sure Cuts Alot software. I went to the website and found out that the new SCAL doesn't work on Cricut. I know my version 2 will still work, but what happened?! I know there was a lawsuit with Provocraft-was that part of the settlement-that SCAL would no longer support Cricut? Is there currently any other software that enables you to cut svg files on the Cricut? Wow, do I feel out of touch!
Thanks!
Deb

I still use my SCAL but I have heard a lot about Make the Cut. Try Googling it.

Both MTC and SCAL are no longer allowed to support the Cricut. There is more info here on a thread if you would like to try to search for it.

Bummer, huh? Sorry you are just now finding out. :(

DEb: Girl, you are lucky you have SCAL v.2. It's no longer made for cricut! Yes, it be true :(. Craft Edge was sued by Provocraft as was the maker of Make The Cut. You can't buy that one either! :( SCAL v.3 is only for other cutters. It is not an upgrade for SCAL v.2. I saw SCAL software sell for $350.00 on ebay. That's when I found out about the lawsuit. A total shame on Provocraft to disallow the freedom of creativity of cricut artists. So, my sister and other SCAL owners, hold on to it! Craft Edge is still available for support.

Default I am so bummed!!!!

I just went out today and bought a cricut expression and then went to the SCAL website and was not able to get Version 2 software. I am so bummed. I haven't opened my cricut expression thank goodness. I think I will be taking it back. I specifically bought it to print the darling templates at My Time Made Easy. Any suggestions??? Thank you so much.

So, is there another program you can get for the Cricut Expression other than SCAL and MTC?
