Hey Ladies, my mom just got a cricut for like $80.00, at the store that is. Sometimes she is not the brightest, she asked me to show her how to work with it. I have briefly worded with one before but I am not so savvy. Can anyone direct me in how to see what is all possible with it. Thanks.
www.cricut.com has a community much like Splitcoast where you will get all the help and advice you could possibly want! They're all very informative and willing to share. Have fun!
Each cartridge has step-by-step instructions in the booklet that is included. Use up some large scrap paper - each "letter" has several options that will create different looks. Have fun!
Also, look things up on Youtube. There are many helpful hints there. Try the following blogspot: http://everythingcricut.blogspot.com/ http://just-a-scrappin.blogspot.com/
These will give you a great deal of help as well.
I LOVE my cricut but it took me a while to gain confidence and experience in using it. Just jump into the water with both feet! You, too, will love it. But be prepared to part with some serious cash as you will want nearly every cartridge out there.
The best advice I can give you is to just start playing. I have a Cricut Expression and love it. I knew very little about it when I first got it. I used old or ugly paper and made random cuts to figure out what all the features were. The message board on Cricut.com is a big help as well. Just jump in and ask any questions you may have.
Good luck!

Check out your local scrapbook store. Mine offers several cricut classes. You bring your own cricut. They teach you how to use it and make scrapbook layouts/cards in the process.
