Default cricut explore air or silhouette cameo?

of course they each say they are better...... anyone used both? have a feel or thoughts on which is better and why? i havent used both, but because i am somewhat challenged, it looks like the cricut is easier. i have used and i say that with reservations, a cameo and i had a hard time with it. was considering selling it. another selling point for me is that the air is bluetooth and i could use it with my tablet and not have to worry about a computer with a disk drive, especially since mine died and all i have is my tablet at the moment. so hit me, any thoughts?

You probably would like the Air better, honestly...it is more user friendly. I bought the Cameo after debating for a while. The AIR requires an internet connection where as the Cameo doesn't. I like not needing the internet. I can go to different crops without wondering how my connection will be or in the case of EXPO, there is NO connection at all for the entire event.

One of my friends bought the AIR and she was making cards that night. She found the software easy to work with and She LOVES hers!

I like not having to buy an entire cartridge for just a few loved images. I just signed up for an $8 subscription with Silhouette and that buys me $25 worth of images. They have daily deals at 69 cents each and weekly steals at 50 cents each, so I am collecting quite a few images that are 3-D, printables, cuts and sketches for the pen tool that interest me.

Long term, for me, Cameo was the better value. Plus I just learned how to eliminate the white edge (a great e-book on Shilhouette School) on print and cuts, so I can make files for all my stamps now and cut them on the Cameo.

Ultimately, I will sell my Cricut Expression and Cartridges. BUT, I don't mind the time it takes to learn new twists and tricks, my friend, hates having to learn these things so she got the AIR. And in the end we are both VERY happy!!

The software for the Cricut is not good at all. Many problems with it. Whereas, the Silhouette has awesome software and you can do so much more with it. I have both and use my Silhouette 99% of the time.

Check out the Brother ScanNCut. I'm not great with technology & it doesn't required purchasing cartridges; not essential to use internet. Research whether it fits your needs. I got one recently and really like it. Watch videos and see if the way it works is right for you. You can even convert Silhouette files to use on it.
