Default cricut cart storage ideas?

My dear dh gave me a cricut expression for Christmas this year .. and I have quickly collected cartridges. Anyone have any good ideas for storage -- some of mine did not come in a box, but in those hard plastic hanging packages. The boxes are easy to store but these are not... help!

Vicki....I took all mine out of boxes and put the boxes inside the large box the Espression came in for storage in the top of my closet.

I took the cartridges and keyboard overlays and have them in those plastic containers that lock together. The ones with purple lids and are about 9x6x3". The brand is Snapware. The booklets are stored in another one. I separated them into either fonts or images. I group the font cartridges/keyboard overlays under the booklets. So that I have 2 different containers each with 2 containers. That way I know which group to go to without looking through all of them.

I saw no reason to have the boxes in my work area. These are much easier to get to and they can stack on each other when not in use.

This system works for me.

There are a couple of message strands over on the Cricut board about storage ideas.

thanks! I will check out the cricut board (didn't know there was one, thanks for the heads-up) I agree about the boxes in my work area -- they take up too much room. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I got my little storage containers at the dollar tree. Each little box holds 4 cartridges and the boxes can stack and clip together. I have a photo on my blog here:

I went to www.hallmarkscrapbook.com and ordered a great box that holds 8 cartridges and keypad overlays and is about the size of two original boxes. I put the booklets in the box into a basket beside my Expression.

I use some lock n lock containers they are clear containers with clear lids and come in various sizes that I bought at Walmart in the kitchen section. It holds quite a few of the ones that are not boxed, and I just use my label maker to mark the container with the name of the cartridge on the cover and side so I can see it quickly at a glance!

Check out ebay! I got this same box for $7 total, including shipping. There are tons of them brand new for a bit less money!

I store mine in a snapware ribbon box. They each hold ten handbooks, overlays & carts. I use 2 stacked together. I'll attach a pic. I think its the same one the 1st poster was refering to.

This is EXACTLY how I store my carts. Since they are stored vertically, they take up very little counterspace. Good luck finding something that works for you!

At Ohmycrafts.com, they have Cricut Cartridge storage boxes where you can fit more than one cartridge in a box, along with the keyboard and handbook. I think they would be cheaper and a better use of space than buying a shelf for them.

Default Idea for Cheap, Easily Organized Compact, Storage for Cartridges, Key Pads, and Books

This is a tool box from TSC - Tractor Supply Co. It can be ordered on line for 12.99 - it is not perfect but is cheap, holds a lot, easy to organize, and seems well built. The hinges on this have many parts around a metal rod, so it looks like it may hold up well (after all it is made to carry heavy metal tools.)

It easily holds 32 cartridges and the key pads in the top tray and below it will hold at least 37 books and 14 more keypads. Plus in the middle of the top shelf you can add another 14 cartridges so it can hold a total of 46 cartridges and key pads and at least 37 books. These books have the non-English parts removed.

I have been storing my keypads on edge already in my room and had written with a Sharpie Extra Fine Point so I could easily find them. I keep the key pads, the cartridges and books in alphabetical order. With this box I have now written on the top of the cartridges also.

I am going to try putting alphabet library marking cards between the books so I can find them more easily. Anyone have any other suggestions for how to easily find the books? I plan to add cards to put in place when I remove a book.

I weighted this with 41 cartridges and key pads and 37 books and it weighed less than I thought it would 10 lbs.

I plan to keep them all in this at home so I can easily find the cartridges and can quickly grab it to go to a crop and not forget the box I really wanted at home. Right now I have boxes all over the place and can never find the one I want.

If you do not have a local TSC store you can order them from here. The handle folds flat so you can easily stack two.

http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/...&Special=false

This is so long of an address you will probably have to copy and paste it or just google for JobSmart Tool Box 16 inch and it will come up.

Again this is not perfect, but it will at least keep everything in one place until we find the perfect solution.

Hi! Sorry for the late response. I got mine from meijer.com:

I did search other websites, but this one gave me the best price.
