Default Could anyone show me how this punch can be used?

Hi,

Last year I bought this MS border punch that has a line of fir trees. It looked like a neat punch to use on Christmas and winter cards. Yet, I am drawing a blank now at coming up with ways to use this.

Would anyone have a card where you used this punch that you could show me or give me a link to one? I have tried to search the gallery, but can't find an actual card where this punch was used.

Thanks tons if you can help me here!
Bonnie

I've found it easier to use some edge/border punches to make strips of the cut design to place where I want. Depending upon where I intend to use the punch, the image could end up upside down if I just punched right on the card or scrapbook page.

So, I punch on a separate strip of paper and trim the length as needed.

If you want a softer look, you could take the negative of the punch and use it as a stencil on your card. You could then build up the scene to create depth on your card by sponging in the negative space.

Love the little saying under your name, OtherMeg! Dh and I got a real laugh out of that one. He said it sounded like me. Yep, probably why I like it, lol!

I bought this punch too - HAD to have it LOL - I keep looking at it in my punch drawer so your post is very timely as I SHOULD use it instead of LOOKING at it LOL!!! Sue Nelson aka Susie B here on SCS has a wonderful knack of using border punches in ways that I could never think of. Here are two cards of hers that use a Martha Stewart edge punch and even though it is NOT the same punch as what you have, you could use the trees punch in the same way. Card #1 and Card #2

Have a look thru Sue's gallery - she has tons of ideas!
