Default Copic Markers in Stampin up colors?

Can someone point me to the right direction or website I should say.

I wanted to take the ultimate plundge and buy the Copic Markers but I was thinking of only buying the Stampin up colors and then building my collection after that.

I also wanted to save money though....

Can you please tell me where to find the best price......

I have a list at work of the SU/Copic matches. It was posted here, so maybe a search would help you.

I've ordered from both www.carpediemstore.com and www.oozak.com

Free shipping over $50 at oozak, but they are out of a lot of colors. Shipping is between $11 and $15 at carpe diem, but they had all the colors I wanted in stock.

One thing to think about is that when you only buy SU-matching copics, frequently it means you don't have the right colors for shading/blending since the SU colors are so far apart within the same family and/or in totally different families (Marianne's blending family post explains how the numbers work).

If you're just starting your copic collection you might consider getting a couple of the colors that "match" the in-colors and/or some of your favorite SU colors and then 1-2 other markers in that same family but 2-3 numbers apart from each of the SU "matches". For example, BG09 is one of the colors suggested for Blue Bayou. If you also get BG07 and BG05 then you have something to do shading/blending.

Oozak has restocked some of their markers with more expected today so their available list is a bit more extensive today than it was yesterday. Their price is awesome! I've bought from them before and their shipping time was great on that order.

Thumbs up

Just wanted to post a thumbs up note about Oozak. I placed an order this morning around 10:30 for some Ciao's. Got a confirmation around 12:30 and then a shipment notification at 2:00pm. How awesome is that!

Just wanted to say Thanks for all of the color matching information! This is exactly what I needed. I'm also in the process of trying to match everything. I do have one question though, in all the searches I have done, I haven't found where anyone has matched two older In-Color SU colors. . .

Vintage Violet
Buckaroo Blue

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,

Charlene

Charlene, I ordered my Copics from Ellen Hutson and she included a color chart for matches to all the Stampin' Up colors. She recommends

Vintage Violet=BV29 Slate
Buckaroo Blue=B97 Night Blue under BG93 Green Gray (she mixes these to get the best color match to Buckaroo Blue)

Hope that helps!

I got my first set from Ellen Hutson and have added to it. She does a great job on matching Copics to SU.

Thank you so much. I appreciate the response and apologize for my delay in responding. I've ordered all three and can't wait to get them in. Someone else recommended B97 Night Blue for the new Pacific Blue so I'm happy that I get a two for one! : )

Thanks again!

I've scanned Ellen Hutson's blog and also the store and can't find the chart alluded to all over the place. Can someone state specifically where this list is? Is is something she sends you, a link to a specific blog post, information at the on-line store? Deets please.

Has anyone come up with a color match for the new Stampin Up colors?

It really matters what type of paper you are using and how many times you go over your ink swipe.
