Hi bjtstamper, did anyone ever answer your question? If not, the answer is not exactly. There is a technique where you can color directly on your stamps with copics and reactivate with a spritz of alcohol, but it produces a watercolor effect. I think Gina K has a tutorial on that at stamptv.com
I believe the reason you can't color directly on your stamps with copics is because the ink dries too fast or maybe it is the alcohol evaporating too fast.

No need for correction as your explanation is accurate. The ethanol from the Copic ink will evaporate almost instantly, leaving the pigments in your rubber stamp. To reactivate those pigments, you will need to spray the stamp with alcohol, and quickly apply it to your paper.
Question about: Airbrushing blue sky~ What color/color combo is best? I have tried a few but they are either tooo light or tooo dark? Can anyone offer suggestions?
It really depends on how deeply you apply the color. I like B21 dark, or B24 applied very lightly. BG11 also works for a brighter sky, just experiment with how dark you apply it. HTH

I had a problem with one of my Copics today. Unfortunately with one of my favorite ones (G21), and I haven't seen anything like it mentioned on here. I ran out of ink, and refilled. I have refilled before on other ones, just not this one. After I refilled, the marker seemed a little darker than it had been, and not as smooth as it had been. Today when I went to use it, it wasn't coloring much at all but was sticky on the brush tip, and coloring very gloppy. In fact when I colored, some was almost as dark as the G28 color, yet this was G21, and 3 hours later those dark sections are sticky. Yet the tip of the marker looks uneven, like ink isn't getting to areas. The other end looks fine. The tip is also sticky, almost like the ink is dried or too thick to flow.
I guess it almost looks like it I have picked up some type of glopped up coating on the brush tip. Are there any papers or inks that could cause this type of coating to be on the tip to ruin it so you can't color through it? I want to avoid this in the future if possible.

Lainy, I had a similar experience when I was refilling two markers in the Splitcoast Make & Take booth at CHA. I think the tip got really dried out and then became a barrier to the ink still inside the marker barrel. I wrote it up to the caps being off of the markers almost all day long at the show.
Gently remove the marker tip and soak it in some blender solution to re-moisten the entire tip. It will most likely turn a very pale green/ivory/whiteish color. Then put it back into your marker barrel and lay the marker flat to rejuvenate the flushed tip. It should fix your problem.

Ugh Pink is a pain for me. I am still trying to come up with just the right pink color combo. I saw one I like the other day on Amy Young's blog- RV10 RV11 RV32 RV34. I have a few other pink combos on my blog if you click the picture of the copic cap on my sidebar.
I need suggestions for medium and light shades to blend with B18. ( Lapis ). I bought it because it matched the SU Brilliant Blue ( which is now discontinued! ).
When I look at the color charts B18 seems to stand out on it's own and the two lower numbers near it don't look like they would blend very well. Any suggestions welcome!

Here are some suggestions G12 G14 G16 or G12 G05 G09. I posted a picture of these combos on my blog.

One thing you may want to try with your blending which will help - I learned this technique from Suzanne Dean's tutorials - is touching your G12 to your darker markers, picking up a little of that color and blending in with it. It gives you that "in between" color you don't have in a marker and blends the two nicely. You might try that technique and see how you like it, and it won't ruin your lighter marker. I just "scribble" a little when I'm done and my marker is as good as new. Good luck!!

Has anyone taken their copics on the plane with them recently? Did u take your blender solution too or pack it in your suitcase do to the liquid restrictions...
pack the blender, or if it's the small bottle, put it in your baggie of liquids. If you're coloring during the flight and are afraid you may run your blender dry, then carry two blender pens.
