copic blender markers

OK, i have gotten a few copic markers and am planning to get the blender marker. Once you blend with the marker, does the tip stay that color or do you need to wipe the marker around to get the color off the blender tip or do i need not to worry about mixing different colors? help!

The blender pen does not work like a regular blender pen...it actually takes away color. There is definitely a learning curve...which I have definitely not mastered yet, lol! But to answer your question the color will go away.

If you see unwanted color on your marker tips you can just swipe the marker off on a piece of scrap paper until it returns to its original color. No damage done! You can blend your colors very nicely this way by taking the lighter color and swiping it on the darker color chisel tip and then coloring until the darker color fades out.

Once you get it, you should be using your colorless blender to remove color or push color or correct mistakes like coloring outside of the lines by pushing the ink back towards the line. You aren't technically blending with the colorless blender...I swear they should rename it.

Yeah...it should be called THE ERASER PEN because it moves the color from where you don't want it.....to another place. it doesn't really blend.

Correcting mistakes is just one of the awesome things about the blender pen. I love using it to fade colors into white and to create texture. You might check out Marianne Walker's blog for other techniques using the blender pen.

The blender pen is great for making clouds. I lightly color the sky and then use the blender to remove color for a hazy sky with clouds.

One thing to note is that afer you remove color with the blender pen, let the area dry a bit if you need to add color next to the area where you removed the color. I have found that the paper is a bit saturated and the next color can bleed into the saturated area and it doesn't seem to matter what paper I'm using.
