I am currently waiting for JoAnn to ship my Cuttlebug order. There seems to be a delay as it was on sale for $59.99. After looking at their website today, it says they are out-of-stock, so I don't know if I'll be getting one anytime soon or not.
Not that you asked for all that information ; )
I took the leap for the Cuttlebug when I saw all the really nice embossing folders that are now availalble. I will most likely use it for embossing rather than die cutting...although, it's nice to have the option to die cut, as well, ya know. It looks like a rugged little puppy and I can't wait to get it. Does that help?

Well, you are certainly living up to your screen name!!!;) I LOVE my cuttlebug! I use it mostly for the raised embossed backgrounds. I like to use the embossing folders and then run an ink pad over the raised design, it really pops. My favorite use for my cuttlebug is for my Nestabilities (made by Spellbinders)! They are nested die-cut layer templates. The nesties work great with the cuttlebug, and there is a whole lot less cutting for me!
Here is a card I made with the large oval and scalloped oval Nestabilites.
Here is a card with the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Hope this helps push you over the edge!

Oh yeah, the Cuttlebug is cheaper at Michaels ($79.99 regular price) than Joanns ($89.99 regular price). I used my 40% off coupon and got it for about $48.00! HTH!

You NEED the cuttlebug!!!! I love, love, love mine. My niece came to visit and used mine and fell in love with it and asked for one for Christmas. Now all her stamping friends want one too! I agree with Dorothy, use a 40% or 50% off coupon at Michaels, they are $10.00 cheaper than JoAnns. The folders and dies are pretty much the same price at M's, J's and HL.
For what this little machine actually does I feel its a "steal" particularly if you can get with a discount/coupon.
Just the embossing feature alone is quite wonderful then when you consider you can die cut as well, WOW!!!! How have you been able to resist this long?
You have to consider what your paper crafting interests are. That will determine which die cutting machine if any, you purchase.
I feel you would be wasting your money if you are only going to use the machine for embossing. Yes, both the Cuttlebug and BIGkick do a super job of embossing, but also the possiblities for die cutting.....there is no end. No more purchasing those expensive little packages of stickers. You can make your own die cuts how ever you want.
In my opinion, using either the BIGkick or Cuttlebug can become habit forming or an addiction. I know I'm addicted to it. I have both the BIGkick and Cuttlebug and use them both on a daily basis for all kinds of things. Don't just think of paper crafting. If you iron fabric onto a heat bond product, you can embellish clothing or home decor items. I embelished a lamp in my livingroom with the decorative accents from a Sizzix die.
In the end only you can decide if a die cutting and embossing machine is for you and which one. It's your money. But a lot of fun too!
I knew I could count on you girls to push me over! I can't see the images from our sister's gallery above though - Guess their still having problems with that.

It looks like you will save a dollar or two if you get the one online (depending on if you have to pay tax). The one at Michael's (with the 40%) should be $47.99 plus tax (5%), so a total of $50.39. If you get the one online, you should save a couple bucks, but you have to wait for it. If you get one at Mike's you get it right away for a good deal. I'd say it depends on how patient you are feeling!

I would call CreativeXpress and ask them what the total price would be and then base my decision on that. If it was a better deal thru them I would wait for it. You've waited this long without it, whats a couple more days?
I didn't think this was too bad, after all, I have to have something to play with when it gets here. When my husband comes home, I'll tell him what he bought me for V-Day! Hee, Hee

Oh my God, right after I posted this, he walked in the door. I told him what he bought me for valentines day, and he didn't even blink an eye. I should have ordered more!
Julia,
Are you going to get the CB at JoAnn's? I hope you do...it'll be such fun!

Yes! I got if from http://www.creativexpress.com/ for $35! That's why I got such a good deal as noted on my list above. I'm so excited. Thank God someone posted this cuttlebug for $35.00
You are going to love your Cuttlebug. You are going to wonder why you waited so long. The embossed backgrounds alone make this tool worth every penny. The fact that it die cuts too is so great. I use mine mostly for embossing but have a ton of dies to use with it as well. The embossed backgrounds make a simple card look elegant.
Blessings.

I am probably the most impatient person in the world! I don't know how I am going to find the strength to wait for it to get here!
Your cards look like it's $1000 Really. I made dd some invites with the bug, a center stamp, and ribbon and it looked so pretty. It's in my gallery. I love my bug for embossing with the templates that are Provo brand but I'm thinking of getting the Wizard because my Nestabilities doesn't emboss so well. Not crisp enough.
