Actually all the ones that were manufactured between certain dates that had *the problem* were recalled even from store stock.

So any that you purchase now, no matter where you get it from, should be totally fine.

That being said, there are a few places around the same price when you factor in shipping. I got mine from cropandstick.com ... framingsupplies.com is comparable in price too.

I bought mine from Framingsupplies.com. Shipping was reasonable and fast. I didn't have any problems at all. I know a lot of people order a knockoff from Thetapedepot. I just ordered tape from there. Shipping took Forevvveeerrr. But the price was great and free shipping over $35. Can't comment on the quality of the gun though.

I've heard people also like the genaric one. It ATG 50 from Tape Depot. It's much cheaper. Just make sure you get the thinner tape.

I think those are sooooo much cuter, not to mention cheaper initially, but the refills end up costing like 5 times as much per foot! :(

If only 3M would make an aesthetically pleasing scrapbookers ATG gun.

I am sorry I believe you are looking at the wrong gun. The Pro (It is pink) is also on my site and LOOKs like an ATG gun from the picture, but it is not. The Glue Glider Max is 114 FEET of Adhesive (It is red). It is also 3 times wider than the ATG gun is. It was voted Most Innovative New Product by the Craft & Hobby Association. The refills are not an unreasonable price for the large amount you get, not just by feet but by width. I made a conscious decision based on years of experience to carry the Max, because it is the best on the market. You really have to look at both in person to see and test the difference.

I think I am going to have to take another picture, because if you notice the picture (it came from Glue Arts) has a model with little hands holding it. I have normal sized hands and I almost cover up the handle. Almost everyones thinks this is an ATG type gun because of the design. Thanks for taking another look :-D
