Default carl cutter help

I am always looking for the best paper cutter. I got the the smaller carl cutter RT 200 and the bigger carl cutter DC 238 for Christmas. I need to know what I am doing wrong. It seems like I am not getting straight cuts. I really wanted it to cut lots of card stock at one time. Help.

Are you using the magnetic bar as a support for the cardstock? I made that mistake when I first got mine. The magnetic bar is just to hold the paper down. I don't even use it anymore. If you use it to support the paper it will slide and make you paper slightly crooked. Hope this helps.....
