I have cut thin chipboard quite easily with mine, and it embosses beautifully! I am using the Big Shot and Nesties. Most of my so-called chipboard is the back of a legal pad, or the stiff piece of cardboard in your Designer Paper packs that keep it from getting bent. That may be thinner than what you mean. I even cover it with DP before cutting out and have had no problems.
In case you want to try, I use Multipurpose platform closed, clear cutting pad, paper or chipboard, Nestie, clear cutting pad. That is my simple sandwich, and as long as you flip the die over the right way you can reverse the paper and Nestie.
They'll cut cereal packet weight just fine but nothing much more than that. They're a wafer thin die (like Quickutz) rather than a steel rule die (like Cuttlebug) so the profile of the raised cutting edge is just not deep enough to cut through anything too thick.
Ok, so I played today while my husband watched football. I was able to cut thin chipboard with my Cuttlebug and my nesties. I made a cute little book to put pictures of Christmas Day for my Mother In Law using the large Label set. The largest die is 4x6. I will try to finish it up this week (except for the photos). Thanks for all the replies.
I tried using a spellbinders die this weekend to cut through part of a Cheerios box. I used a Wizard. I had mixed results. The dies are so thin, but I was able, after sending it through 3 times to get a tag die.
