Can Openers???
I was wondering where you could buy the can openers that will let you open the bottom of a can? I am dying to try the pop top cans, but can not get the bottom off the can... Help!
I got mine at pampered chef.. I just made 15 of these little fruit cans for an open house I had yesterday.. very easy.. and every loved them.. The can opener is so easy to use!
My mom got one for each of us through the Betty Crocker catalog a few years back. Not sure if they still have them, (or still have a catalog for that matter either).
I'm sorta hijacking this thread - sorry. I couldn't find this pop-top can thing you are all talking about. I looked in techniques. Can someone attach a picture of one or guide me to where I can find this? Thanks so much!
Starfrit makes one
avail in dept stores...
but they also make a cheaper one that is not the one you want...beware...
Tuppperware one is great too and the demo should let you open something if you need to see it work...
just bring a little can if you are not sure...
pampered chef is the other one I see is already mentioned...
the real problem is what to do with all that fruit!
(I made 60-something to make into a stack that looked like a BIG cake for my moms 60th birthday....)
make popsicles with all that fruit
dollar store popsicle tubes
icecubes for the punch or your waterbottles
use a little at a time for smoothies, very sweet!
add to yoghurt and granola for breakfast parfaits.
Use in little tupperware cups for kid lunches.
on icecream
puree for a friend with baby(very sweet!)
hth! gl!

Thank you guys so much for the info! I have several places to check out now. I have so been wanting to try this, and its to the point that I feel guilty every time I throw away a soup can because I think, gee- if only I had an opener I could make something here. sad, very sad ;)
Thank you so much! I was actually in that part of the gallery last week looking for Bridal shower ideas. Don't know how I missed these! My 4 year old may be eating a lot of fruit in the next few weeks! Thanks again!
Thanks for posting the question. I had totally forgotten about those cute little cans. I have a safety can opener. Got it at local grocery store for about $15. Now I just need to see whose birthday is coming up next.
I found mine at target and it works great. It is black (can't remember the name) but does say clean opening or something like it.. I think it was only about $15.00 also.. good luck with your search.
