Can you tell me more about how they work? With colored pencils, markers?? Which do you recommend? I was looking at the SU ones and then saw the Dover Blender Pen.

I use them with SU watercolor pencils and they work wonderfully. They smooth out the texture of the coloring. You just color over the colored in area. You go color area by color area. You clean off the brush each time you move to a new color by just coloring back and forth on scrap paper. I've only used them with the wc pencils.

I love my SU! blender pens. I use them with the watercolor pencils, chalks, and to pick up ink from the lids of my ink pads. And they last a long time!

Just a testimonial for the SU blender pens, I got my first set (they come in 3s) and they lasted me 10 years...without refilling...[I'm not kidding] and I used them a lot! I just recently replaced them after not loving the refill fix. I anticipate that my next set will last me at least that long!
I have a Dove blender pen too but the softer brush on the SU marker makes it much easier to maneuver and "blend".
((IMHO)) They are best for picking up dye ink from the lids of the ink pads or from a palette of reinker colors and watercoloring an image OR picking up color from chalks and coloring .
What about when the tips get all mushy and are no longer good for detail work? I can't believe yours lasted 10 years! I went through my first set in a few years, bought a new set and one of those is almost toast. I just refilled my first set and i like the refill solution i found and used, 1/4 tsp rubbing alcohol, 2 tsp glycerin, 4 tsp distilled water. took out the nib on one end and took a medicine dropper and put about 1/8 tsp in. worked great for the dried out ones. Didn't do much for the tip being mushy though. SU doesn't offer replacement nibs. Are there any out there that will work with it???? Love my blender pens
I adore my Blender pens with chalks and for a softer look with the inkpads.
I have 2 sets fo the SU! pens and they are all well loved.
I have SU blender pens, but never thought to use them with chalks! Do you pick up the color directly from the chalk palette? How do you use them with inks? BTW, I use them all the time w/the SU pencils!

I use the Dove blender pen and buy the replacement nibs for it. I'm not sure, but I think I bought the nibs at a stamp show. I use my homemade refill solution, and it's lasted me about 7 years now.
