I'm not sure which forum it was under the other day but someone was talking about just ordering the SU incolor refills and using them on stampin spots instead of ordering the whole ink pads. Does anyone know where to find blank stampin spots?
I've bought from welbourn and believe I paid 1.80ish per cube. I went out and did a quick search, and this website offers them for 1.49. I did not check out shipping costs, but thought I'd share.

Thank you everyone for the information. It seems like this is the way to go since the In Colors are only around for 1 year. In the past I have ordered the full size ink pads but I'm going to try the spots this year.
Hmmm....I tried putting in 12 and it comes to $17.88 before shipping and then he charges $6 for shipping. That's $23.88. I'd like to find them for a little less myself - the shipping at least. It's not going to cost six bucks to ship 12 little spots....
I bought the foam pad from inksentials and a bunch of the little dollar store inkspots. I took out the pad in the dollarstore inkpad, cleaned up the cubes and glued in squares from the inksential foam. I also bought a container that had 12 compartments just the right size for the ink cubes from the dollar store. I think all in all it worked out to about $14Cdn for everything to make one set of inkspots. It doesn't take much ink and I made these probably about 5-6 weeks ago and they are still "juicy".
Here's pictures of my finished project:

Jackson Marking also sells cube stamp pads. The kind with the cloth pad... not foam. On the web page it shows the colored pads... you would just choose "uninked" in the color menu if you order any.

OK, I'm having a hard time justifying the cost of the stampin spots plus shipping plus the reinkers when I could just by the ink pad for approximately $1 more and not have to mess around with anything. Is anyone else having this problem? Although on the other hand it makes sense to get the little spots since the ink is only "in" for one year.

Well, financially it might not make sense, it is a personal preference really. I like stamping with spots better. I stamp rubber side up and tap the ink pad on top of it and this is easier to do with spots. Plus, if I were to always get the full sized pads year after year, that would take up MUCH more space than just keeping the spots and reinkers. That's my rationale anyway.
They are cloth and she (CraftDeals) has different auctions for different amounts of spots. I wanted a lot for all my in color ones and the neutrals, etc. This was the most economic deal I found.

I ordered some from here for my mother in law for her birthday. They came really fast and it was only $10 for six of them which included shipping. Thanks for the link.
Super thread! Thanks to original poster and all you ladies that have taken the time to reply. This is why I love scs so much. I always learn something new I'll be checking out the Mardi Gourds sight myself

Well, you will still need to buy the re-inker once your full size ink pad dries. Also, if you use the little inkspots and the ink dries up then its not so much a loss as a full size ink pad.
I just ordered from Mardi Gourds. Their service was extremely fast. I ordered the vlue packs of 12 cubes for myself and 3 friends. We are slpiting the cost of the shipping and it still worked out to be about $17.95 each. They ship Priority (I ordered last Wed and got the order on Sat.) I am well pleased. I have used Wellbourne in the past and their service is not nearly as fast. I do like them however....... so now I have two choices.... I like the convience of the spots, so easy to take to crops and stamp events. Each to their own. Like one of the earlier posters said, The reg. size pads take up a lot of room. I don't have that luxury....
Which is better for stamping---the felt spots or the foam spots? TIA.
Stampin Up! uses cloth pads, so that will be the one that more closely replicates them and is the preferred medium.
I began with the spots as they were the easiest and most economical way to have all the colors right away. Even though I have the full size pads now as well, I still love the spots for their portability to classes, crops and playdays, etc. I can fit them all in one slim case and go!
I go back with SU a few years --- and remember when they had the older style ink pads. I have about 12 of them. I do not like the new ink pads so am using the ink pads from Mardi Gourds with reinkers for those SU colors that I feel I just have to have. They sure take up a lot less space!!!!
Looking all over the Frantic Stamper website and not seeing the uninked spots. Their search tool is not working. By chance, do you know the name of the company that made the uninked spots? Appreciate it.

Look under Ranger products, Cut n Dry-dry ink pads. I ordered from her and she gives very fast service. It was my first time to order from her and I am very pleased. I will order from her again in the future.

Just wanted to note that in colors are going to be current for 2 years now, not one. We got 5 this year and we will get 5 more new ones next year, each set being available for two years on a rotating basis.
Just and FYI, there was a lot of info with the color shake up and that was one bit of new info!
Glad to find some suppliers. I bought the large uninked foam pad from SU but it sure took a lot of my craft ink refill to wet. I would prefer the small spots for the new colors.
