Smile black embossing INK

Instead of using clear versamark and black EP (which I sometimes get a grain or two that don't shake off and end up embossed when I heat), I need to find black embossing ink which I put clear EP on. My girlfriend has it but can't find anymore.

I think I read somewhere that people use SU colored craft ink that is sticky and then clear EP? Does that work with heat gun?

Thanks you crafty gals and guys!
Blessings to you all today!!

Hi Cindy!

I'm from your area! It's always nice to see a local!

You can use any pigment ink to emboss, so yes, you can use SU Craft ink. There are other choices, too, though. I emboss with VersaFine all the time, even though you're not supposed to be able to. I guess I just work fast enough, LOL! Have you ever been to Stamp Fanci in Westview? She has a ton of choices and is always happy to demo the products and help.

Yes, any black pigment ink. SU has a black craft pad (pigment), Colorbox black pigment is GREAT. These two are my favorite ways to black emboss, because I also hate those nasty stray specks, lol!

However, if you use an embossing buddy on your paper before stamping, you really come close to eliminating any specks, and a paintbrush to flick any remaining specks off is all it takes. Either way, the embossing ends up looking really sharp!

Wink thanks for your input!!

Thanks ladies for your input!!!

I have not been to Stamp Fanci lately, I will have to take a little trip.

I just wanted to make sure I was on the right page with EP and pigment ink.

It is so cool to be able to ask a question and voila, an answer!!

Have a great day!!
