I've been trying to start making some altered journals and the like and I was just wondering about what I should purchase to help me. These are both new tools but I was hoping to get some feedback about the Rubicoil as well. I don't mind investing in it if it's worth it. So please share your experiences! Thanks!
I have a rolabind and love it but it is big and expensive. However i think it will last a very long time. I am very interested in the bind it all but could not find where to purchase it, do you know?
I had a proclick system & it did not give enough versility in the size of the binding. I sold that & then bought the rubicoil. I love the rubicoil!!! They have soo many different size coils & different colors & very easy to use. I like the look of there spiral binding. It is a little bulky & pricey but it depends on how much you plan to use it. I made a family calendar for a few family members with it & it looked "store bought" with the spiral binding.
The first machine you showed (that was $60) has a nice binding too. But I wondered how hard it would be to make a big book. (meaning it looks like it can only punch out 6 or 7 holes at once, then you will need to line it up & punch again) What if you wanted a11" long book?
Hope this helps
I have and love a Rubicoil, but that other binder is tempting too. . . Jeepers! I have some real self-control issues when it comes to cool toys. I tried a Carl Comb binder AND a Rollabind before my Rubi, and I like the Rubi *much* better. (Yes, by tried, I meant bought, to try not to spend the money on the Rubi. . . but the rubi-Borg won anyway.)
Wow! Is this new, I haven't heard of it before? Any reviews? I'm still wounded from the 3-in-1 binder we waited so long for and never got. ;) LOL! Does anyone have one yet? I would definately go for it for $60 if it's all that it claims. It claims it binds "any and all - big and small" projects!
The Bind-it-All is portable and small. It cuts through everything from a credit card, CD, and chipboard. I have one waiting for so I can't wait to play with it.
My DH got my rubi from laminator warehouse on-line and they were fast in shipping and had a super price - but not the best he found. He bought there finding them to have the best rep. I also got some coils and the pliers from them. Good shipping, good price, but came in 100 per box. This website looked interesting for coils but I have not purchased from them. http://www.bonniesbest.com I am very interested in the little binder though because I love the wire binding and the price is not bad.
I'm wondering if the bind-it-all would be much better than the SU spiral punch? Can someone please tell me the difference? I haven't received my Spring mini yet and I have no way to tell the difference. Does the SU spiral punch only work with the SU notebook? Hope someone can help me out, TIA.
I imaging the bind it all does not do the slits to make an open hole. The SU punch used on paper will pull out with out tearing. If this or the rubi is used, it is like the tear you get from taking it out of a notebook.
Did any of that make sense? I think it is time for bed!

Perfect sense. thank u!! i guess it"s just a matter of personal use. in other words i need both

I've ordered a lot of stuff from Bonnie's website. She has an awesome selection and great customer service, too. Check out some of the other toys she has. I really love the corner setter - it puts decorative metal corners on your projects. So cute!

Oh dear...I jumped in, closed my eyes, and ordered the Bind-it-All!! Yikes...I'll let you know. Here's where I got it: http://www.angelsscrapbookgarden.com/
The lady said they work great, they're flying off the shelves, she loves hers.
I WENT to Angels Scrapbook Garden in Mission Viejo yesterday and they have a bunch of these AND the Dream Kutz! I got one of each! I made a book this morning, way cool and easy! It also punches thru the medium coasters I got, like buttah!!! They werent having a demo yesterday, but it is so easy to do. I wish it wasnt so close to me, I spend $$$ when I go there....

The hole sin the Bind it all are like our punch, but no slits, but I thinbk I would just snip with the scissors, wouldnt take any effort at all, maybe just my glasses...
Thank you....thank you.....Tandra. May I ask you what that dream kutz is about? I have ordered my bind-it-all, but it's still not here. What is that place where u go, and where is it????
OH MY the Dream Kutz!! lol Im a paper-cutter hag!!! This one cuts 12x12 or 8 1/2 x 11 into MANY different size pcs!!! Front or back loading, hand crank, its the coolest! Cuts 1-2 pcs at a time, its hard to explain all the diff ways it will cut! ATC size, 4- card front size, and on and on!
Angels scrapbook garden is in Mission Viejo , So Cal.
Its also VERY easy lining up the holes to punch a 12" long book! There is a movable tab on the side with 4 diff positions for what/where you need to cut. Still playing with it and figuring things out. Angels had a CD to watch (havent yet), and the instructions that come with it dont answer any questions, so I should watch the CD! But I made my first book without any trouble at all!
Thank you very much. I'm off to tell my friends about that cutter. One more thing, how much was that dream kutz? I'm so sorry to keep pestering you. TIA
Sorry i was over in Demo Chitchat!! lol
The Dream Kutz was ...gasp $90.
But I dont have to measure and line up each edge with a measuring mark like on a reg paper cutter. Just slide it in(looks like how paper goes into a top of a printer) and crank handle and out it comes!! Turn it another direction, slide it in, out it comes cut smaller.
Well, I came here to give my vote for the Rubicoil which I have and love. Now I'm looking at the Bind-It-All and see some advantages of having one of them too. It looks like they both have their strengths and they are quite different.
I love my Rubi because it makes such a nice looking finished book, the coils come in great colors, and you can punch the entire side of an 8 1/2 X 11 piece with one punch. I have had trouble at times cutting through heavier chipboard with my Rubi though and it is not portable.
The Bind-It-All looks great if you want portabilty and the capability to cut through heavier material on smaller projects. I don't know if I'd like having to repeatedly line up my material though to punch the entire side of a larger project.
Good luck with your decision. Looks like your gonna "need" them both (and maybe I'm gonna have to get the Bind-It-All)!
Well, I'm no help. I have and use my Rubi, but I ordered a BInd It all this weekend too. . . One advantage to the BiA other than punching through chipboard and other thick covers easily is that the pages stay even at the top and bottom when the book is opened. It has always bugged me (AR person that I am) when I open my booklets and have one side spiral higher than the other so that it looks skewed when I scan it. It's not so bad it you stand the book up and photograph it however. With a dual wire rather than a spiral, the tops and bottoms should stay even, even when opened.
I have the bind it all. I totally love it and am so excited to start playing with it. My mom got it as well. You can even punch through cd's!! It is awesome. It does not line up with the su punch. I also go the dream cut machine with it....LOVE it.....but I am a cutter fanatic. I am 100% happy with it so far.
Does anyone have any pics of a finished project done with the rubicoil?
For the Bind it all, is there any place that sells the coils in small amounts (say, less than 25)?
On coils in smaller amounts, yes--try www.eclecticpaperie.com . Joy sells them in 2's or 6's. I just ordered a variety of sizes from there.
On rubicoiled books, do a search in the gallery here; I am sure that there are several of them. I'm attaching a cover of one of mine. I tried to attach an inside page , but the dimensions wouldn't attach here. HTH!
