Default Bind it all o-wires....

So, I finally took the leap into the world of binding! Now I'm wondering where the best place is to buy the o-wires used to bind your projects together. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

If you were in Australia I'd say Lincraft for about AU $15. Try one of the large craft chain stores or compare prices online before comitting to buy.

I just got a BIA also. My friend suggested this site for the o-wires.

Have fun with it.

Thanks for your replies, ladies. I'll get started. And in regards to the best place to buy in Australia, I'll let my girlfriend know! She's moving there in a couple months.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the bulk wires bonnie's best sells? The link below talks about why those are not as good a choice as the ones made by Zutter (which of course are more expensive). Before buying a whole bunch of wires that I can't use, I was wondering if anyone can tell me about their experience with the cheaper bulk wires? Here's the link: http://www.zutterzisters.com/files/Owire_nep__1_.pdf

Thanks!

I have used both brands and I prefer the ones from Bonnie's Best. Of course, Zutter is going to say that no one else's wires are good ones , but I really don't like the Zutter wires at all. They are harder to close evenly than the ones from Bonnie's Best and in my opinion they don't look as nice either. For as costly as Zutter's are, you can't afford to waste them ;).

Thanks for your input! I'm going to buy a pack and give them a try.

What I found to be helpful is to cut up some pieces of wire into 6 o-rings each. Then placing the piece into the machine and closing them. You will need to adjust the setting in the front of the machine until you find the one that closes the wires evenly. I found this to be the case using the wires from Zutter as well. But when you buy wires from Bonnie's Best you aren't so concerned about wasting a few pieces of wire to make the proper adjustments . It also helps when binding a book, to slightly pull up on the wires from the top of your book pages while closing the wires at the same time. This helps to give your wires a nice rounded look. HTH
