I found my BigKICK at www.costco.com for $76.99, and that included shipping, and I got it in 3 days!! Its white and red, and has the Multi-platform, cutting sandwich, 2 dies and a large frame die, and 2 blank embossing folders, 1 emb folder with Thankyou in it, and I have been using all the Cuttlebug emb. folders with it and it works great!
Go to the site and type in Sizzix and it should come up.
I think the above post with the Costco like will be your best buy, if you are a Costco member. The only place that I have seen the Big Shot online is at www.Joanns.com for $90 and www.paperdreamsstore.com for $100 and neither come with the Multi-platform. Target it had it for a little while for $80 but I don't see it there now, they might be out, so maybe check back there later.

The CB are no problem just stick the paper inside the folder then sandwich the folder between the BK cutting plates (tho no cutting involved) then put on the MPP (can't remember which tab... whichever gives a little pressure) and run it through...
you need to get a BISK to use the non-sizzix/cuttlebug embossing plates - the simple brass ones... you can get BISK at archiver's or online at ellisondesign.com or sizzix.com
OK I use the Cuttlebug Embossing folders with my BigKICK. I was stressed at first! There are 2 'pages' of the MultiPurpose Platform (MPP) to open, The first time I only opened 1 of them when i did embossing, and it was REAL hard to turn and I was afraid it would break! (It didnt!) So now I open both 'pages' of the MPP and it embosses perfectly on SU paper. It gives total directions right on the 'pages' themselves. I have ordered all the Emb dies that BusyBeescrapbooking.com and CreativeXpress had!! Havin so much fun!
Cant wait to get the Paisley one that was shown at the CHA!!!
Can you use the Big Shot Paisley folder in the Cuttlebug?
Hi, Terry,
I just measured my Big Impressions texture plate, and it is almost 6" wide x 8" long. I don't have a Cuttlebug, but I think that it may be too wide to roll through.
Can you use the Fiskars texture plates w/ the Big Kick or Big Shot?
I have *heard* that you can, but I don't have any to try and give you a definitive answer. If the Big Shot texture plates go thourgh a Big Shot, and they are about 6 x 8, how big are the Fiskars plates?
I just ordered the Big Shot. I'm so excited to have one of my own. If all goes well, I should have it in a few days and will be cranking them cuttlebug folders left and right.
well, my Big Kick comes today. Yep, I took the plunge because of all you enablers! Seriously, I just love those embossing folders Got a bunch last week;)
I asked my friend to order it through Costco. Thanks for all your help on this thread. I'm sure I'll have more questions after I get it!!
You can use Cuttlebug embossing folders and dies in the Big Kick. You can also use the Fiskars texture plates in the Big Kick. It does EVERYTHING that the Big Shot does! I find that the Fiskars texture plates do not do as deep an emboss as the Cuttlebug folders but I think that is just the nature of those texture plates. I have used the Big Kick and plain brass dies for several cards and it works GREAT! I do love the Cuttlebug embossing folders - such a nice deep emboss! I have also used my Sizzlets alphabets in the Big Kick with great results! The Big Kick is so much wider than the old Sizzix machine and you can do 6 sizzlets at a time which speeds up the process. I would recommend the Big Kick/Big Shot to anyone who is looking for a die cutter that does it all.
annebarc, I just asked this ? on another thread. Maybe you can help!
When you run your SU brass templates thru the Big Kick, won't it emboss everything on that template? So, do you just cut out the image you want then and layer it?
I purchased the Big Shot about 3 weeks ago. So far, I love it but I have wondered too, if you have to cut the embossed image out it you use a SU stencil. Otherwise it embosses the edge of the stencil. Havent' figured out a way to get around this.
I got a Friends stencil in a plastic folder with my machine. When I tried using it, the impression wasn't very good at all. I discovered that using the Impressions pad on the top of the 'sandwich' worked wonders instead of using the cutting pad on top.
What do you do with the blank plastic folders?? How do they work?
Peggy
Yes, the Big Kick does emboss the whole template and you do get the edges as well but I usually just cut out the image and layer it. It's a heck of a lot easier than the whole light box thing! So much faster!
I am also wondering what those blank embossing folders that you get with the Big Kick are for????? If anyone knows, I would love to know as well.
