i do not have any of the machines and am seriously thinking about getting one...
gale - is there a difference in this one and the ones you have? if so what? what about the SU big Shot?
why are the prices so much LOWER?
It is my understanding that this is the EXACT same machine as the regular BS and the SU BS. No different except color. I think they are just trying to get rid of it and clear them out. That would be my guess.

Today's paper ( Sun. Oct. 18th ) had a Michael's add showing 40% the die cut machines. In the picture it showed the red and white BigKick; which I believe is the equivalent of the BigShot now being sold by Stampin' Up. I've really been thinking about getting one, but I feel a little guilty not getting it from my SU demo. However; at almost half the price I think I could get over the guilt. Just can't do it now....maybe someone else can take advantage of this sale today.
I don't think you should feel guilty not buying it from your demo, she would get the additional business from exclusive die cuts your could buy form her, and by buyikng a sale you would have more left over for the dies
Bigz Pro are the newest one so the text just may not be updated. These are dies that are like 12 x 12 and cost about $60 each so for me, it's not an issue.
Thanks, Gale. I did a little (?!) more checking at the site and found those huge dies. It looks like you're right that that's nothing to worry about. Thanks for the info!
Yeah, my shipping was $21. I think it still makes it cheaper than anywhere else, but it's when I went to order dies that paying the $15 was just too painful. They could easily put a ton of dies into a flat rate box or even a priority envelope for much less than $15.95--the minimum shipping charge to me. I really don't understand the excessive shipping that some companies try to get away with when shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO.

I know how you feel. At my work we ship worldwide and We also charge a bit more for Hawaii and Alaska. APO/FPO we charge a bit more but give a military discount on the actual products for any of our companies.
I asked last week about our shipping charges for HI,Alaska and Puarto Rico/Virgin Is and I was told the PO actaully charges us more to ship to these places so we have to charge more. They also cannot use a Return label of ours either as that return shipping is more than the $6.99 the label is good for.
We were told it has to do with the mail going over the oceans to get to its destination makes it more costly.
I think if its U.S. then charge the same.
I agree. I guess I just don't see the reasoning since when I go to the USPS, I am charged by zip code and my zip code is "CA" And, if I can mail a flat rate box at the same cost as anyone else that reasoning sort of falls though, you know? Strange, strange, strange. I have been told by some companies that they charge more because they have to fill out a customs form. Yeah, like that costs $10 more.
Just wanted to thank Beth and Gale for the info and coupon and the others who answered my questions. I finally couldn't stand it anymore and ordered the Big Shot. This was just too good to pass up, even though I was really happy with my Cuttlebug. Hopefully this will give me a little more versatility.
Just visited Sizzix again- looks like the $39.99 is history. We must have cleaned 'em out! I bought one, and let a coworker in on it, and she bought one, too. I am SO glad I got in on the cheap deal- thank you to the OP!!! And also for the coupon for 25% off.

Well, if my e-bay outlet order from them is any indication, they're fast! I bought the scrap pink set on the 15th and got it today. Now, the funny part is that although we put down my in-laws address to avoid the $15 shipping fee it kept wanting to charge us, it came directly to us and only for $3.95, but in a flat rate envelope. (Which I don't understand why they didn't do this to begin with.:confused We're guessing they went ahead and used the paypal address rather than the shipping address we put on the order. WHo knows. I'm just happy to have the set!

Not sure how fast they are but keep in mind the big shot is fairly heavy(in terms of shipping) also. I really don't think this is outrageous for shipping.

Yes, I just saw that. So glad I got mine when I did!!! I am SO excited to get it! I think I will sell my Cuttlebug and Revolution! This will be great just having one machine. Yeah!

BTW - I already warned him and the kids they are getting up at 6 am so i have time to play before breakfast and going to grandmas.
I ordered mine on Sunday and got the shipping notice this morning. It won't be here til Monday though! That stinks I wish it would be here in time for the weekend!

Michael's has the Big Kick and the Cuttlebug machines on sale this week for 40% off...just in case anyone missed the great sale. I don't know much about the Big Kick but I own a "bug" and use it all the time. I wish I could have got the Hello Kitty Sizzix but not quick enough.....

I just checked and it says my Bigshot shipped!!!!
But I did not get a ship email yet.
Now if only they'd some up with a die similar to the SU Lattice (or if SU would retire it ~ so I could get it used...)... It's the only die I seem to really like... silly me!!!
ETA question for you all...I have never used an intricate diecut like the Hello Kitty before. Don't you have to run the die through the machine several times, once for every color on it (like the hair, clothes, body, etc), and then glue it all together? Seems like a lot of work to me, especially for the tiny pieces???
