Question Best Tip for Punching a Straight line with the mini punch pack?

I love this card; esp the strip of stars punched with the star mini punch.

Festival of Trees from Stampin' Up! - Bedlam and Butterflies

Anyone have a tip for punching a straight row of stars (or any other mini punch image)???

TIA,
Kelli

On that particular punch it's easier because you can draw a straight pencil line and line the first two horizontal points on the star up with that line. As for the balloon punch - I think you'd have to make a template by punching on a scrap and then marking the centers or something.
