I say 3M ATG Gun cost about $37 the 924 tape 1/4" 36 yard roll is about $2.40 Great and super sticky Happy shopping!!!! www.framingsupplies.com is the best place for it.
You might think that it's expensive to buy the ATG gun at first. But try to calculate how much it's all worth including the tape, and the cost of your current adhesive and how many times you buy them, all in one month. There is a very big difference.
I also have the ATG and use it everyday. However, I also use Scotch Quick Dry Tacky Adhesive and it lasts forever! You can get it just about anywhere. The bottle is white, red & purple and in the craft section at Target & Walmart. Love it!
I too am a huge fan of the ATG. I consider it one of the best investments in my stamping room. My only problem is that the odor of the Gold tape bothers me. Next time I'll get the non-Gold. But other than that it's been a real time and dollar saver!

I don't have the ATG, I just use the Tombow Mono Adhesive (same as the SU SNAIL, I think). I wait for the refills to go on sale & stock up. When I get them all for 50% off, it's not bad.
For liquid adhesive, I really like the Zig Two-Way Glue Pen. I've had mine forever & haven't used it up (it hasn't dried up, either & my craft room gets HOT - in the attic- in the summer).

Beth,
Where do you buy the Tombow Mono Adhesive? I don't think I've ever seen that before.
I also use tombo mono adhesive and it can be bought anywhere, Mikes, ACM or Jo's.
First you would buy a tape runner, then you can buy the refills. Its a little pricey, but I think its worth it b/c its so easy and no mess. And once in a while adhesives go on sale or an online store may have a good deal on refills. Also there is permanent and removable versions.
I end up using it for so much more around the house than just crafting b/c its just too easy to grab and go!
my favorite is ad tech, it is sold at Michaels in the fixatives and adhesives aisle, not with the scrapbooking adhesives, but it is acid free. It's basically the same as mono adhesive, just cheaper! Where I live, at michaels it is 2.99 for a filled dispenser, and the refil pack has 2 refills in it for 2.99! The best deal i have found, especially if you use a coupon for 40% off, which makes it about $1.90, and a 50% off makes it $1.50!! The only problem that happens sometimes is that the part where it comes up gets gummed up, so keep it clean of gunk build up, and it should work great. also, Walmart carries it for like $2.24 i think, but it's cheaper at M's with the coupon!

It is cheap, but I have never had any success with the AdTech. I ended up throwing away three refills. For my money and peace of mind, I stick with my ATG - no waste in time or tape.
I love, love mono multi, the green bottle, very inexpensive and goes a very long way. You use only a very little and it gives you a little time to reposition before it's stuck for good. I use to use the mono tape until I was finding all my cards falling apart that I was selling. darc
Zig offers ''2-Way Glue'' in three tip sizes, and SU offers it in a fourth (in-between) size. You can adhere tiny and HUGE items with the different applicator tips, and if you let it dry to clear before you join things you can reposition them for a short time.
The ATG is too much for me - I finally tried it at the Great American Scrapbook Convention last month, and it took the help of a neighbor to hold everything in place while I applied the tape. Not for me - but that's why there is a variety of adhesives for sale, lol!

I was kinda shocked when I heard all these people talking about using atg guns. For years michaels had used them in the custom framing shop when putting together the frames. I had used it before there and found it very, bulky and difficult to use and extrememly difficult to refill, and fixing it if the tape got messed up was a nightmare. So it bewildered me when I started hearing the people use them for card making/scrapbooking. I just can't see using something so big and bulky on little pieces of paper. The ATG would take up half my craft table! So anyways, I much prefer a small little dispenser that fits in the palm of your hand and to refill you just drop a new refill in, kind of adhesive. So if you like to be able to do that too, 2 thumbs up for adtech, or if you want to spend more, mono adhesive.
Tombow mono multi or Zip dry. If you really like the tape runners, Adtec is great. Sticks way better than SU snail or tomtow mono (cheaper too!). I didn't like the ATG at all....

Jen, when I first got mine I thought the exact same thing. This is so bulky! But after I used it awhile, it wasn't so bad. For me, the bulk is worth the savings. I still use other adhesives from time to time - one doesn't fit all - but most of my stuff is done with the ATG. It cut my adhesive spending by probably 75%.

I'm a big fan of the Mono Multi glue - in the green bottle. I buy it at Joann's either on sale or with a coupon and it's about $2 a bottle that way. And one bottle last forever.
TOMBO MONO MULTI baby! LOVE it and it is goes forever! I do use snail on ribbon though (b/c the fibers will just soak up the mono multi and make it temporary rather than permanent).
My favorite is the Duck Brand tape runner. It works smoothly every time and although the adhesive is permanent, for a minute or two after putting something down, you still have time to reposition it (at least that has been my experience). And even years later, things are still stuck. I buy mine at JoAnns with a coupon. Makes it less than $2 per roll that way.
I looked at the ATG but it's way too big for my taste.
Another vote for ATG here. I just bought 24 rolls of 36 yards each for $36 and no shipping from thetapedepot.com (thanks to another thread here!). That comes out to just $1.50/roll. Can't get much cheaper than that!
ATG only for me. I hate stuff falling apart and that never happens with the ATG. I work in an LSS so have used all the other adhesives---nothing else comes close to the hold of the ATG. I can't talk about wet glues tho, becuse I don't/won't use them---too messy and I'm afraid they will get brittle and cause stuff to fall apart.
ATG 714 for putting the big stuff together. Yes the gun is pricey upfront, but it does pay for itself... and there's a thread about cheaper tape refills at Tape Depot now making one roll (36 yards?) about $1.50!
and
Tombow Mono Multi glue for little details (I got it from Scrapbookpal.com for like $2.49 each, free ship over $25)
I have to vote for the ATG too. It is very lightweight and I have never had a problem with tape breaking or refilling it. Very easy to refill. For the smell of the acid free Gold tape, if you leave it out to air for a day or so after you take it out of the box, you should be good to go. The smell doesn't really bother me because I love the tape and use it for almost everything, including ribbon, and it is really quite a big savings when all is said and done.
So I have to ask... the ATG looks so big... is it cumbersome? I keep thinking I should get it.. but I HAVE been using the Tombow Multi glue that SU sells and wow... it sticks! I hate having my cards fall apart after a few months. But.... I have to admit, that Multi glue can get a bit... messy at times. My fingers already have enough ink on them... but now glue too! LOL Do I invest in the ATG????

After reading the posts on here, I bought an ATG a couple months ago. When it first came, I was disappointed...I hated how big it was. The cute little SNAIL dispenser was so less intrusive on my table!! However...after using it for a few projects, I LOVE IT. I had to send mine in for a recall and while it was gone, I hated using my little SNAIL thing...stuff wouldn't stick like it should, and I went through a whole refill so fast and it gummed up on the corners. Now my ATG is back...and it's BIG, AWFUL BRIGHT RED, and sooooo WONDERFUL!! It's not popular for its good looks...but boy does it do the job so well!!

It might feel cumbersome the first couple of times you use it, but it doesn't take long to feel comfortable with it, trust me. It's about all I use now.
another ATG lover here...you cant beat the hold and the price for the refills...yes there is a slight (very slight) learning curve but once you use if for a bit you dont want anything else.
I actually like my ATG especially BECAUSE it's so big. When I used a palm-sized Tombow, it was always disappearing under paper or ribbon or behind a punch on my desk. The ATG NEVER gets lost! I resisted buying it for a long time, but now I'm really glad I did!
I like scrapbook adhesive EZ Tape Runner. I like how it can go in circles and stuff like that. I'm thinking about the ATG gun but its SO big and I need to find a place to store it.
ATG all the way. I just ordered 24 rolls of tape from tape depot and it cost me only $36!! Coming from a person who bought just about every type of adhesive runner out there before finding one she liked, this one is the best and the most economical as far as the price and amount of adhesive on a refill.
I may have to look into getting the ATG gun, based on all of the positive comments regarding it. Lately I have been using MemoryStor Adhesive Runners that I have gotten at Costco. They are a great deal. My Costco had them for a while at $13.99 for the 6 pack but has apparently stopped carrying them in the store. They are still available on the Costco website, but the price there is $19.99 (it does include shipping though). These runners remind me of SU's Snail.
My absolute favorite adhesive is the Elmer's Dotliner (Permanent). It comes in 1/3" by 43'. Of all the runner adhesives, it consistently lays down a nice ribbon of adhesive dots and holds well. I've tried Tombow and a few others and think Elmer's outperforms them all!

My favorite is the Zig 2-way glue pen. I use the one with the widest tip for gluing layers, and have the fine tip for small items or applying glitter. I love this stuff! I've tried a bunch of different adhesives, and this is the only one that stays stuck a year later. It's also wonderful on coasters!
I use Tombo Mono Aqua for heavier accents like Bella's Baubles or buttons. I don't like it for layering paper though, it makes it warp.
