I am wanting to alter some band-aid tins and I was looking for some clever ideas of what to put inside of them. I put some small scrap pages in one but the only other things I can think of putting inside are gift cards and candy. What do you like to put in these small tins. Thank you for any ideas you can give me.

I've made them into little "get well" gifts. My dad just had knee surgery, so I put in a few bandaids, a trial size of pain killer, and some chocolates. I've done them for colds/flu too... same idea, but no band aids. In that I'd put a tea bag or 2, some cough drops, a little pack of kleenex... things along those lines that are tiny and will fit.
If it's for a stamping friend, maybe you could put in a handful of assorted primas, and/or brads and eyelets, pop dots, ribbon... you name it.
If you know someone that just got glasses, you could put in a little microfiber cloth for cleaning, a tiny little screwdriver..
My daughter just got her ears pierced, so I'm thinking about doing a band aid box for a few sets of earrings. I'll probably do the little plastic band aid boxes from WalMart for that though.
I made some for some of the prizes at a baby shower and I made 10 gift tags (5 designs, 2 of each) and put them in there. You can find it in my gallery

AWESOME IDEAS - thanks for sharing!!!
Howabout
A mini-sewing kit - needle, thread, sewing tape, buttons
Teacher gift: post-its, paper clips, stickers, mini stamps/ink spots
Nail Kit - only the flat nail polish bottles, mini nail files, nail stickers, clippers
Girly kit: lip gloss, stickers, barrettes, nail polish & candy
Those band aid tins are adorable! I saw on JanTink's blog that she wrapped SU's wrapping paper around the tin and made mini cards to fit inside the tin - which was adorable.
My daughter had to take a household item and reuse it for something else. She took a bandaid tin and decorated it for a portable first aid kit. What we did was take our Crop A Dile and poke a hole on each side of the top, then wove hemp twine through it for a "strap." We decorated it in nature colors, and filled it with first aid kit items. It was a big hit!
I am in the process of planning a class where we will decorate a band-aid tin with Christmas paper and fill it with gift tags made with the Tags for All set in the holiday mini and the Perfect Presentation hostess set. I'm excited about it - so far it's turning out very cute! Hope this helps!
Love notes also fit perfectly in the band aid tin. How about decorating it for Valentine's day and putting Valentines Love Notes inside. Kids can take it to school to pass out their V-day cards and then give the tin to the teacher.
Hi! I'm a newbie here, but here is my thought about what you are doing:
How about a thought of the day: Word process favorite thoughts or quotes, then either make them into little scrolls or slips of paper like you find in Chinese cookies.
each color family of the watercolor crayons. i kept on dropping my large tin and broke a few :( so i decided to make the bandaid tins and have them seperate. each family fits in one tin and they fit perfect!
I altered a band aid box recently and filled it to the brim with primas for part of a friend's bridal shower gift - some scrapbooking stuff and some goodies for her kitchen.

I have a die that cuts a perfect insert with a nice tab on the top and used coordinating cardstock and DP held together with a colored metal chain (that I received eons ago in a club scrap kit) All they have to do it adhere the swapping sized class pics. Here is a pic of the outside: I used Heidi Grace Paper. (and her name is Sally) Oh and the black things around the top edge are cool little gems- you know those middle school girls love their bling!) alteredbandaidtin1.jpg

Too stinkin' cute! I love this idea and will definitely case it!
I made Survival kits. I found a stamp at the store that said "Survival Kit." I stamp it on red print paper. I then filled it with lip gloss, red chocolate lips. and breath mints. I bought the stuff at the dollar store at 2 and 3 for a dollar so it was inexpensive. I did them for Valentines day and sweet sixteen birthday gifts.
How do you cover the top of the band aid can? All I can think of is, cutting a piece of paper the size of the top (gluing it on) then cutting a strip to glue around the side of the top. Is that correct? I'm probably behind the times, but this idea is a new one to me. It's terrific! Donna (daffydonna) Thanks!
I made a band-aid tin into a "Wedding Day Survival Kit" and gave it to the bride for her shower recently. It was a big hit with all the attendees!
I put in:
Energy Candies (Sharkies)
Tylenol
Band-Aids
Nail File
Clear Nail Polish
Safety Pins
Shout Wipes
Breath Mints
"Nerve Tonic" (mini bottle of liquor!)
Check it out...best price I found for the band aid tins were $1.79 from
Scrapbookexpress@yahoocom. I ordered a bunch, and they are great..HANDLES AND ALL!! Great site for all kinds of things, as well!!
It's me again ladies,
I had another idea. Decorate the tin with paper and ribbon and fill it with some big clip bookmarks. ;)
I am going to make one for my 6 year old DD. She is in 1st grade and they have to read every day. I thought if I made several of the big clip bookmarks (using my Cuttlebug stackable flower die) she would be able to read several books during the week and mark them wherever she decides to stop ;)
Cute idea isn't it?
I got my tins (with handles) from Creative Express when they were on sale for $1.39 each. They have sales on all their tins periodically and I try to stock up then.

Edited - oops, I thought my earlier post didn't go through. Sorry for the double post!
I picked up a couple of these tins recently at Archivers. I let my boys paint on them and decorate them with stickers. My 4 year old put some baseball cards in his and my little guy (2 year old) found some Valentines laying around and filled his with "notes from his friends". They love to carry them around
