Hi everyone! I saw on here that a few people bought their ATG's at Michael's. Where in the store did you find them? I was there today and didn't see any. Maybe mine just doesn't have them! Thanks!
I just returned with mine They were in a little cardboard display right at the beginnig of the aisle with punches, etc. I asked a worker where they were, and she had no idea what I was talking about. When I told her a big pink tape runner, she went right to the display...there is only room for 2 on the rack at a time, though. She was just unloading a box of 4, so if they don't have any out, maybe there are a couple in back. I used my coupon 40% off and saved $14, making it $20.99 + tax. The box includes 2 rolls of tape! Can't wait to try this out. I've been wanting to try an ATG for at least a year, just didn't want to spend so much. Good-bye Tombo, hello 3M!
oh shoot! i should've asked...but i was afraid of the "i have no idea what you are talking about" look! maybe when i'm done with the two packs of tape i just bought ( :( ), i'll go back and pick the ATG up. Thanks everyone!

The gals at my Michaels gave me that look...lol! They didn't have it and had no idea what I was talking about. :???:
I'm telling you...make sure you ask for the "big pink thing that rolls tape...comes in a big pink box that says 3M!" That ought to do the trick! any mention of the acronym ATG and you're gonna have trouble! But this lady knew instantly what I was talking about when I described it. Her reply was, " I was wondering what these were." Good luck, ladies!
I got mine last Friday and it was only one left, It was on a display rack at the end of the aisle where the regular tapes and glues and xyron machines, etc are. On a long wire rack. I think they only had 2 also. But they had other scotch glue and tape products on the rack. Also the refills for the Atg guns. I had been on the look out for it and had been in two days be fore and they had something else in that spot. So I just lucked out getting it. Don't know if they will continue to have the guns, but hope they continue the tape.
Thanks for the heads up! One of the ladies at my M's scares me--and she's always there! She reminds me of a mean old librarian (no offense to those nice librarians out there)...beehive, glasses and all! LOL I hate asking her for help.
I'm always surprised by the lack of expertise in the Michaels' employees (except for one very good lady in the jewelry-making section)--no one ever seems to know what I'm talking about when I ask about a particular paper-crafting item, even the really "hot" ones in the crafting world!

I've been wanting an ATG for a long time - just never wanted to pay the bucks. I do have my Michael's coupon and pass there on my way home from work. Gonna do it today. THANKS for the heads up!

we just got a brand new huge Michaels - I have been there twice with no kids and wandered around looking at everything, even depts that hold no interest. This store has nothing that interests me in the least. There stamp/scrap section is 2 short rows, that includes all the paper. They do have a rather extensive bead section, but I find cheaper beads on line.
No ATG anywhere to be found.
I am so disappointed, as this store has been a long time opening. I thought with the size it would be chock full. :(
went to my M's last night. They had the refills but no gun. :( Who knows when they will get them. Sadly, I have never met anyone who works there who really knows what he/she is talking about. Well, I have one on order so hopefully I will get it soon.
The gun is for 1/4 in tape and Michaels did have some refills for 5.99 - I think that was for 2 rolls but not positive.
I bought the gun last week with my 40%off coupon - I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! it included two rolls of 1/4 in tape. I have made a mini album and 10 cards and I still have tons of adhesive left in the gun - so much better better that my little pink and green gun and the tombow mono tape. And that tape is super strong also.
I found my gun in the scrapbooking section, on the side portion of an endcap - there has a whole bunch of new and newly packaged 3M products. Only 1 gun - so I snagged it and put my Golden Acrylic paints back for another week...I was not going to let this chance slip by me! It could be a year before my Michaels got in another one....lol.
I just bought one at Michael's yesterday. It was the last one, and it was $34.99. I had a 40% off coupon. I found it on an end cap in the scrapbooking section. The refills were priced incorrectly. The general purpose refills were $5.99 for a 2-pack, and the acid-free refills were $9.99 for a 2-pack. They were all on the $5.99 rack, so the manager let me have them for $5.99. I think that almost twice that price for acid-free is ridiculous. The tape is 1/4" and 72 yards. The refills for my other ATG are 36 yards. I had a little trouble with the used-up tape unwinding, but I think I got it to stay. Other than that, it's about the same size as my ATG 50 (maybe a little wider), and it's easy to handle. I plan to use this one for my 1/4" tape and the ATG 50 for the 1/2" tape. I gave my Glue Glider and refills to my mother, because she can't handle the ATG very well. Both of us are happy.
My Michaels's does not carry it yet, but the store manager knew what I was talking about. He thought they may get it eventually get it once they have room in the store for whatever series that is a part of. Yes, this Michael's store is probably a lot smaller than most. He did mention that they can be bought online. Just remember that not all Michael's stores are exactly the same.
The tape is 1/4" and 72 yards. The refills for my other ATG are 36 yards. .
Actually each roll is 1/4" by 36 yards. The packages says 72 yards because it is counting the length of both rolls combined. It fits the red 714 as well.

Oh, I thought it looked the same as my other rolls. Thanks for the clarification.
When I seen these at our Michael's a week or so ago, I called the company to ask if it was like the 714 like I already have.. after speaking to a few people they said that it was about the same, different model and that it used the same size rolls of tape. I bought one for my mom. I used a 50% off coupon that I had with me, so it was a great deal. They were hanging on what we called "side-kicks" when I worked for WM.. the wire racks at the ends of the aisles.. I was in Pinehurst last week and seen them at the Michael's there as well, hanging on the same wire rack.
I think it's wonderful for those that have wanted one, to be able to get one for such a great price.. plus there is a box with two rolls of tape that come with the thing to begin with.. great deal!
happy crafting ~ Pam

OMG- you MUST shop at my Mikes as well!! They only wear scowls there! :(
I always tell my kids, you can tell how great a company treats their employees by how happy they are...that's a PERFECT example in that store!! I always feel like I am burdening them, they have to "stop" what they are doing to walk up and ring me up, never smile...it's so sad.
I went on my lunch hour and snagged one. The girl that was putting up merchandise in the scrapbooking section and said she worked exclusively in that section said they did not carry them and that this Region would probably not get them. I walked to the end of the aisle and there was one on the "side-kick". I said "Oh here is what I am looking for" and she said "Oh, I was off yesterday and they must have come in then" Anyway, I'm just glad I finally got one.

There must be more than on scary lady..........I have one at the Hobby Lobby............I have not seen her for awhile but then I am almost too scared to go in there without my dh. Then I have to put on a brave face!
Custom Crops have the Pink one if you can't find it at a Michael's I ordered mine about a month ago during a pre-order so they are a bit backed up.. but the price is good..
So I called my Michael's today and I was told that Michael's doesn't sell the ATG guns....hahaha!! First of all, they had noooo idea what I was talking about. That's crazy! So, are these the ATG's that are on pre-order through custom crops and other websites? How does Mike's have them already? Maybe the rest of the stores will get them later...?
Really I can buy the refills for the Red One at Michaels'. I am in heaven. I haven't used mine in a while cuz I was too lazy to order more tape. Yeah!!!!!!!
Wow, can't believe they have ATGs at Michaels! It looks like special packaging just for them because it doesn't say "ATG 714" or they call it the "Advanced Tape Glider". It was marked $34.99. I already have one but wow so cheap with a coupon!!!
I saw two kinds of tape refills:
one says "General Purpose" for $5.99
the other says "Acid Free/Photo Safe" for $9.99
I've stopped at our Michael's a number of times in the last two weeks (its on my way home from work). Could not find the ATG gun and no one knew anything about it. Finally talked to the head manager. He said that they would be getting it in - but not for an other couple of weeks!!! :( So annoying. Here in NJ no one seems to care about scrappin... Sigh
