ATG-50 ?? How does it compare to the other models??
I'm interested in getting a "gun" and saw in other threads about the Tape Depot having the ATG-50. Does anyone know any diff. compared to the other ATG models, because the price is only $25 for the ATG-50. Also, in the picture it shows 3 refills hanging from the gun, do these come with it?? I didn't see anywhere in the description that it came with any. Thanks for all your help in advance. Sue
Okay, i just found the ebay store for the tape depot. It says the tape is not included. And from what i can read it seems the tape that it uses is 1" wide, am i right?

I am the most impatient person i know, and couldn't wait any longer. So on recommendation of "My3LittleMonkeys" I just purchased the ATG-50 with 12 rolls of adhesive, and then saw ebay had so nicely sent me a 10% off coupon!! So, my total came to $45.80. It's being shipped Priority, so i'll let 'cha know how it is!! But keep the comments coming, i'm still interested in knowing, and others will be too! Thanks
i have the 3M atg 714....love it. but i read here about the atg50 and ordered one for my dd.....she LOVES it ! i would have gotten one for myself and saved $$ but i didnt know about it when i got mine, go for it
From what i've read, it is, and some even like it better. It is ATG tape, just not made by 3M. There are other threads here on SCS that talk just about the tape. Just search under tool and product, type in "ATG" in the search box.
Like the other posters, I don't have the Scotch brand tape, but I will say this stuff sticks...sometimes too well! LOL I tried to pull of an image that needed a little adjusting and it tore my base paper a little. All of the projects I have made with it are holding together well.
Additionally, 3 people in that other thread tested it and it came up Acid Free. The Tape Depot also says it is acid free, in case that matters to you.
I have a post on my blog about this gun, if you want to "see" it...there is a picture there.
The rolls of tape come out to $1.50 each. You just cannot beat it!
Thank you for letting me know!! I make tons of boxes and bags and need something with staying power Sounds like this is the ticket and the price can't be beat!
Finally got a chance to post! Well, i am not one for change, so when i got my ATG-50, i really didn't like it. I didn't like the gun, and i didn't like the tape. After using it for about 1 week, i decided i really do like it. It just took some time to get used to something different! I was so used to being "close" to my project, and with the ATG, it seemed like you were so far away! But, you just can't beat $1.33 for a 36 yd. roll !!!!!!! So, anyhow, i would definetely recommend it. My friend has the red ATG, and it seems to be basically the same.
Is this one smaller than the 700? I like the idea of a tape dispensing gun, but I don't really want to lug around something that size. Can anyone post dimensions or comparison photos? Thanks!!

They really are quite similar in size, but the 50 is teal in color. I still keep a tape runner around for the "on the go" stuff. But you really can't beat the price of the adhesive!!!
I just got a glue glider pro and I really like it! It's a manageable size and it works very well! I think the name of the company is gluearts.
Yes, i saw the Pro at HL, and it is alot smaller (and it's PINK!!), but the refill carts. are still $8.99 (i think), even with a 40% coupon, you can't beat $1.33 for a 36 yd. roll from the Tape Depot.
The gun is large and takes some getting used to but It is now an extension of my hand-LOL I couldn't "live" without it. My Mom was making cards using the regular tape dispenser and I was getting so frustrated. The tape wouldn't come out right and it kept skipping. I guess I'm to used to the gun.
I find that the tape depot tape does not stick as well as 3-M. I was surprised since everyone seems to find it stickier. I use lots of layers and embellishments and the 3M holds better and longer for me.
